I have a buddy who has had this happen a handful of times and I never knew it looked like that. I was under the impression it was something that appeared on the screen.

I loved my 360 to death (literally), until it rrod'd for the 6th time. I had bought the warranty ($50) from Gamestop every single time, so whenever it messed up, they'd replace whatever I took in (controllers, cords, hard drive, etc...) So basically I was paying $50 - $100 or so every year to maintain a 'healthy' 360. Finally I got sick of it and got an 80 gig ps3 and I love it

Nothing beats Xbox Live though. The only 2 lag-free games I've played on PSN are MGS 4 and MK II.

Did you buy the system used? There was never a reason to buy any kind of warranty, as Microsoft provides a three-year warranty against the three rings on every single XBox 360.
