Barry is also averaging more points per shot (1.32 compared to Bowen's 1.14) and has a better adjusted shooting percentage ((PTS-FTM)/FGA) is much better, too (Barry = .546; Bowen = .518). So when Barry shoots, he scores more points and is a more efficient shooter.

Like someone else said, Bowen is up in PPG mostly because he's taken 100 more shots in 600 more minutes.

Yeah, but the fact remains, who would have taken odds on that at the beginning of the season, no matter what the minutes played?

It's just a nice way of underscoring that offensively, Bowen has played above expectations and Barry has played below them.

Too bad Barry passes up so many open shots. The reason Bowen plays more is he plays at both ends of the court, and his offense is not the best part of his game.

After a decent November, a horrible December, Barry has started to level off the last few months. It does matter the minutes played. The minutes played by Bruce Bowen, are more often than not, shared with Tim Duncan. So next time you watch a game, notice how Bowen gets to stand in the corner of the floor, along the baseline and shoot jumpshots with no one within 15 feet of him. Barry doesn't.

I do agree, though, BB passes up a lot of open shots.
