    I love it...

It's gotta say something when someone gettin 3 mil this year is too awful to play when we need someone decent the most.

I thought the 2nd half of the Miami game were the writing on the wall about Matt Bonner's role with the Spurs for now. If he couldn't get minutes that night, he's not getting them except when there's garbage time and the kids need a little bit of a break.

I'm thinking James Donaldson or Yinka Dare myself.

Colour him - the Human Victory Cigar. The Spurs answer to the Celtic's Brian Scalabrine.

Tolliver is just flat out better and obviously has a higher ceiling.
Going into this season, I was hopeful that at some point Tolliver would surpass Bonner in the rotation. Looks like it occurred during his very first game. Tolliver is so light years ahead of Bonner, it's frightening.

I still think Bonner has a better shot than Tolliver, but Tolliver's aggressiveness tonight was a good sign. If he can play defense, get a few boards, finish with authority at the basket, and actually make a three-pointer now-and-again, then he'll be a good young piece for this team. See my new signature for the rest of my thoughts on Bonner.

Well, Donaldson was a quality NBA player at one point.

In Spurs lore, Felton Spencer and Amal McCaskill must rank among the better human victory cigars. Matt Bonner is playing the same role on a team that is decidedly less talented than the Spurs teams that Spencer and McCaskill toiled for.

sigh ... I love Bonner, but Tolliver is just much more athletic, and already seems to be better defensively ...

    we'll see.

I like Tolliver's athletic ceiling. I didn't get the chance to see him play in college or the D-League, but I heard he had range. So far, more than his shot, I'm more impressed with his activity on defense and even on the boards. He seems to potentially be a more polished version of Elson.

Yeah, but he mentors someone and they definitely learn from him, because he shows up to practice, gets on the plane, carries everyone's bag, sells beer, tears tickets and did I mention he mentors the rookies?

He is also teaching the new guys how to shoot that gamewinner!
