Scola is Oberto with more touches. He rebounds at a Bowenesque level, and couldn't defend my mom.

That's because he's on my fantasy team and had given me negative points so far this week while Matt Barnes is suspended and Antonio McDyess is sitting at home.

Unfortunately, he's still probably better than every big man on the Spurs except Duncan.

Scola is a stud, and would average 15-10 in 30 minutes if Landry wasnt so productive.

    Stupid trade.

We should have thrown our MLE at Landry this summer. I would take him over any player on our roster not in the big three.

Scola was asked by Adelman to concentrate in guarding Amare and did it PRETTY WELL, just get the game and watch it for you to confirm....it's easy to bash him if you didn't know why his numbers were so low.

FWIW, he's having the best EFF per minute of all Houston starters and the best FG%, he has +14.5 eff in 25 mpg. And this doesn't include intangibles, like his great IQ or good D against Amare where he sacrifized stats for getting the job done.

And scoring is not easy in Houston, with many scorers or ballhogs (like Alston), check Artest for instance, scored 20.5 ppg before playing in Houston, now he's scoring 14ppg in 40 minutes...

Scola must be awesome to guard a guy playing for another team. Maybe he should have been concentrating on the Spurs.

Yeah, Alston was probably taking too many shots from his couch.

Scola is a stud, and would average 15-10 in 30 minutes
This is the sort of nonsensical claim that I hate to read.

Last season there were 5 guys in all of basketball who were good enough to average 15 and 10 over the course of the season: Dwight Howard, Tim Duncan, Al Jefferson, Carlos Boozer, and Antawn Jamison. People throw around that sort of production like it's just a matter of getting enough minutes to reach those levels -- but reality says that's far from true.

By the way, Scola played almost 25 minutes per game in 2007-08 and averaged 10 and 6; I guess in those extra 5 minutes, it would be reasonable to think that he could basically double his usual production.

It wasn't a good trade for the Spurs; Scola's abilities don't have to be exaggerated to make that point.

Yea when i read my post i reminded myself of Allanon, i think he said Scola would average 20-10 if he played 48 minutes. Not a good thing, but theres a difference between extrapolating numbers for guys who cant stay out of foul trouble or dont play 30+ minutes because theyre a detriment to the team is some aspects of the game. But if you go by this seasons numbers he would be at around 13-8 in 30 minutes.

You can’t judge a player based on one game’s performance …. Tonight against the Hornets.. 10 rebounds 12 points 2 steals 3 assists in 33 min…. and was named player of the game… Bonner is NOT better than Scola and Scola is NOT a stud, just a good player that should be playing for the Spurs..
