He's from UCLA. Was named Freshman Of The Year back in 2005. Is kind of a floater with no real position or standout offensive skill, but he's a glue guy that just wins. He can hit the open jumper, attack the basket and rebound like a young Shawn Marion. He's not as athletic as Marion, but I think he's smarter. He' knows his role, won't complain and will produce very solid to good numbers every time he's given the chance.

Frankly, I was shocked he slipped into the second round. I thought he was exactly the player any contending team could use.

Also, he's supposedly a prince in his native Cameroon.

If you watched this guy's career at UCLA, it was kind of shocking that he got picked at all. He was amazing in his freshman year; especially during the Bruins' run to the le game. However, Luc regressed pretty drastically in his next two years in Westwood. He has always been an incredible defender, but for the last two years his range on his shot has been about three feet. I'm happy to see him succeeding though; he must have put in some serious work this offseason, because he looks way better now.

You can't teach whatever it is that he has. He has a knack for being in the right place. His instincts serve him very well and he was a key to his Bruins making three Final Fours in the three years he was at UCLA.

You can teach a consistent shot. You can teach offense. What he brings by himself is rare enough that I figured it would be in higher demand. Regardless of his skill limitations, the man flat play plays and wins. He needs to be their starting PF. Bring Charlie Villanueva off the bench.

Well said. He went from being called the "next Ron Artest" to being someone who most people were surprised was drafted at all. His offensive game was fugly in his last two years at UCLA. Other teams stopped guarding him in his junior season. Defensively, he was still good but not nearly as good as he was as a freshman. After sucking at predraft camps, most everyone expected him to go back to UCLA for his senior season.

I'm pretty damn shocked he's playing so well. It's like he erased those two years after his freshman season and took the next step from there.
