Eat the head.
Dwight Howard: 13 points, 9 rebounds, 0 assists, 50% FG, 60% FT
Yao Ming: 22 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists, 60% FG, 100% FT
Dwight doesn't match up well with Yao. Never has. Head to head match-ups don't necessarily tell you who's better, but it still makes me feel good to know that our big fella can consistently beat the other "best" center when they face each other.
for the record i think dwight is better for this sole reason, over the past 3 seasons...

Is it really a case of this being a bad matchup for Howard, or would you say it's due more to him not having the skills yet (or not developing them enough yet) to be effective against Yao?
I look at this matchup and think that Howard has the physical tools to be effective, but it doesn't seem to work out, production-wise.
Tonight, Howard played in one of those 82 games and what good did it do for the Magic?
Yao>Howard.
Matt Bullard agrees with you as he said DH was the best center--dip . Bring back Calvin Murphy.
Kind of funny considering Yao was being owned by every other big man in the league.
Both cant go past the first round anyway, this is a useless debate.
Its pretty close, although Howard did battle foul trouble all night, and a couple of those were silly loose ball fouls?
I would take Dwight by a whisker.
Actually probly quite comfortably

The Reffs were riding on Orlando's jock all night, it was ridiculous
I dont have a clue what just happened there
Did you not see what the Refs did to Yao during the second half? They almost got him to foul out in a matter of minutes. (Yao had no first half fouls, he finished the game with 5 fouls.....more than Dwight) Orlando outside of the early fouls on Dwight got every damn call.
We finished the game with 18 FT attempts, but 6 of those were intentional fouls when Orlando was trying to come back......so really it was just 12 FT attempts. Orlando finished the game with 26 FT attempts.....it was the only reason they stayed in the game.
D. Howard is the best center in the east!!!
So would I because he's younger and more durable, but if the guy never works on his game (there's more than just dunking the ball) he won't ever reach his full potential. He really needs to work on his post moves.....the guy has the athleticism of a Hakeem or Robinson.
