Three of my old buddies are State / SWT alums and we get together to tailgate once a year. Last year we went to Waco, this year down the road to University Park, next year we're hitting up Frog Alley. They were in Huntsville yesterday and I kept getting ''oh '' text messages.
I promised that if they won their first round game I'd go to the next one (I was told Texas State was the largest school in I-AA/FCS and could outbid anyone). Is the selection show today? And how does all this work? I already know that since they didn't really win the conference there's no chance to play at home in the first round.

I'm not a hardcore FCS guy, but Montana is supposed to have the best gameday atmosphere in that division. My buddies are booking plane tickets out there right now.
Doesn't JGW live in Missoula? If I wind up going with them we'll have to meet for a few adult beverages at a bar of his choosing.
edit: No way. Just the flight is $900 and I can't do that with the holidays approaching.

I care. I was on the field in Huntsville last night. It was a blast. I got my picture taken with the trophy.
Those things being said, there is no way that I am going to Missoula. I would love to and they do have the best game day experience in FCS, but it is crazy expensive.
In answer to hosting the next round, UNLIKELY.
If we get through Montana (only 10 FCS schools have beat Montana at home, and only 1 'Southern' school), the next game is between Cal Poly and Weber State.
The way FCS is works is that certain teams are seeded and granted Homefield based on their SoS and other factors. If neither team is seeded, then teams get into a bidding war to host a game (it happened with Texas State back in 2005). While we could throw money at it, and with the Drive in full stride they would want to, CP and WS have stronger SoS and things going for them.
The Bobcats are 5-1 this year on the road and 3-3 at home. I like the road odds better.
