Update: The Angels are thinking about offering Sabathia a deal similar to the six-year, $137 million deal that Johan Santana got and to the Yankees’ reported offer, the LA Times suggests.
Recommendation: The LA Times story was in context of moving from Mark Teixeira to Sabathia, so take this with the appropriate metric ton of salt.
