ghey
Is this do or die for the San Antonio Spurs? Could 2009 be the last time?
Is this the Final countdown?
Nah...they got at least one more run in them and possibly more depending on how slowly Duncan ages. I don't see it coming this season though...this season is going to be a season of growing pains and changing of the guard IMO.
Next season?
Spurs are going to have the best guard rotation in the NBA next season....they might pull it off by the end of this season. That guard rotation paired with Duncan is going to be just the thing to extend this run...
Parker, Manu, Mason and Hill...that's a freaking nice guard rotation. Hill being the big edition...this guy is going to be a force every bit as much as Manu and Parker have been...
We need rebounding and interior D though to truly get the most out of that rotation...and I'm not sold on the current shooting of this team under pressure either....
Yes it is. The lack of quality bigs on the Spurs has made them irrelevant when considering championship contenders.
Yeah, because nobody has ever heard of Tim Duncan.
i think the same could be said of the blazers, subs uting youth where necessary.
last year's champions had Big Baby and Kendrik Perkins as their big men genius![]()
They had them to complement KG. Who do the Spurs have besides Duncan?
exactly. We just need average bigs to complement Duncan.
So you are right and wrong. A championship contender we could be if we had big men such as perkings/baby. But I would not call them "quality" bigs at all.
, we won les with Oberto and Elson as our bigs.
In other words, a "championship contender" does not necessarily need quality bigs especially if we have players like Duncan/KG.
All we need is our guards to get their straight and sit Bonner's ass down. and we could be a "contender".
I would ask the poster, Oscar DeLa. He might know what it is.

I'm too lazy to create an Eye of the Tiger troll to refute this.
I think a contender does need quality bigs now. In the East you've got Boston with KG and Perkins and Cleveland with "Z" and Big Ben. In the West you've got the Lakers with Bynum and Pau and the Blazers with Oden, Przybilla, and Aldridge. That is a lot of size to deal with.
I would take Perkins and Leon Powe in a heartbeat compared to Oberto and Thomas...Bonner has looked better recently but his defense is atrocious.
Don't forget Garnett.
Anything "final" about the Pop Spurs on a 3rd of Dec?
The Spurs totally forget how to play basketball Nov-Jan, like they've never seen the game, or each other, before.
Even though Kendrick Perkins sucked last year, he was nevertheless a dominant presence, and that's what the spurs need to have. If we are somehow able to get an average big man that doesn't score that well but is able to clean up on the boards, fill up the key, and simple stuff like that, we should be good. Also, I'm pretty sure there were about a thousand other threads in which we expressed the need for one. We don't need a superstar C or anything
Perkins bullied Gasol and Odom all series long in the Finals. If we had Perkins to pair up with Duncan I'd say we have a great chance of getting out of the West.
As it stands now, our big-man depth is the biggest in our armor. Our bigs play decent defense, but would get eaten alive on the boards by the Lakers, Cavs, Celtics and Pistons (if they get McDyess back).
Lets not forget that SPURS have some Money going into next season, they can go out and get some youth and a big.
What is up with the naked dude on the other dude's shoulders at the begining of that video?
Jump the gun just a lil' buddy? I'll be absolutely dumb-founded if your (albeit, much improved) Blazers are in the same position by playoffs. I would put money on 'NO', y'won't.
Orly?
Do you realize we have played fewer home games than any other team in the league?
