he has to be consistent for 82 games to do that, i donīt think he will be.
Does Matt Bonner have a shot at MIP? I mean yeah Mason is a badass but he did well last season which is why he was picked up by the Spurs. Matt had been doing jack and now the dude thinks he is a BAMF. He is grabbing boards, tipping in missed shots, playing D, hitting 3's. I mean the light finally came on and it's like he knows what he is supposed to do now. I know it' still early and there is a chance that he regresses but c'mon he IS the Chuck Norris of B-ball afterall.

I think Bonner is far too old be receive any "minor in possession" citations.
You, my friend, have been fooled by the beard.
we are still in December right?
come back in March when he puts up several 5 point 3 rebound games in a row and he's riding the bench again.
Interesting statistical comparison since Bonner was placed in the starting lineup 5 games ago:
Bonner- 11ppg 8rpg 26mpg
Scola- 10ppg 9rpg 27mpg
I understand that 5 games does not a season make, but Scola is at 11/8 for the season, and many of the games there was at least 1 of the Houston "big 3" not playing, equating to more opportunities/responsibilities for Scola.
Bonner is putting up these numbers as a compliment to the SA big three, who have played in all 5 games the Red Rocket has started.

Harris will get a fight from.. Barea???:
Devin Harris will win easily...
No, but he was nowhere near the level he has been playin since being traded to NJ...
Not unless he starts laying down 40 a night.
I think he was good when he was with the Mavs. Shoot I wanted him on the Spurs all that happened over there was he became a go to guy because they really don't have much else there. Bonner on the other hand has had the same core the whole time he has been here and it's not like he wasn't given opportunity before. He just didn't do anything with it. Lately he has really been doing well and even earned that starting spot.
Bonner is not the MIP of the league - he always had this kind of ability, just never any consistent PT and made too many mistakes in the bits of PT he did have. I think Pop really needs to look at how Bonner's blossoming and take it to heart, because we could have had this last season instead of Horry.
Let's not go too crazy here.
Spurs are doing well, but no because of Matt Bonner.
Beside, Devin Harris will probably take it.
actually, bonner might just be the reason we're winning.
take away his nightly average of 7.6PPG, and we're looking at a -4.6 point difference.
chuck norris called, and he wants his quotes back.
Matt Bonner:
- 3P% - .510 (league leader)
- 2P% - .581
Nice.
I find this to be one of those 'who would've thunk it' things. Go Bonner. I'm happy for him, and us.
Plus, Bonner outplayed Scola in both matchups this year.
Bonner> over-rated Scola![]()
Go Matt! You're a red-headed BADASS!
Let Hollinger come up with some inferential statistics and standard deviations on why Bonner has improved more than Devin.
(Mason, btw, seems to be doing just as well this year. He's playing twice as many minutes and his scoring is basically 2x. His 3P shooting is better, but overall the Spurs saw that he is an efficient player that wasn't getting enough PT. Now, hopefully Pop will allow him to get even more PT and rest Finley a little bit more.)
