TP = #3 in PG
Manu = #2 in SG
Duncan = #1 in PF
not suprising
It looks like Tony has the 2nd highest usage rate. Uh oh...I"m in trouble.
Now Hollinger will have to invent the player efficiency rating efficiency rating to determine precisely how good it is for one team to have three consecutive high spots on the list.
(My feelings about Hollinger's statistics aside, this is pretty cool.)
Matt Bonner baby!!! Moving up.![]()
Yeah, I remember how everyone thought Bonner would be a near top-30 efficiency candidate![]()
Hill is # 7 in the rookies.
Damn, Bonner did better than Davis AND West.
holy crap!!!!!
TP at #8!?!?! seriously?
Does anyone know if PER factors in "and one" free throw attempts into TS%?
Because if your free throw is an "and one", it should not count as an attempt in TS%. It should only be a bonus if you make it.
Duncan gets a lot of "and ones".
I hope the big 3 stay top 10 the rest of the year, for obvious reasons...
spurs are the only team with a real big 3.
Very good question. If you take a look at the TS% formula, it is written as:
TS% = Points*50 / (FGA + .44*FTA)
The factor multiplying the FTA should have been 0.5 (2 FTA are potentially 2 points), but the factor is .44. The .44 term is precisely to compensate for "and ones", technical and flagrant fouls, as well as the three FTs on 3-point attempts fouls (which should be only one possession).
How the .44 factor is derived is too long to explain in this site. The factor .475 is used when calculating TS% for College Basketball due to the different NCAA foul limits.
Hope this helps.

Bonner has been playing great. just hopin that he doesn't turn into a bonehead later down the road and falls off the charts
i saw in the paper today in Houston that the Spurs don't have anyone in the top ten of any category sucxh as scoring, rebounds, etc.
Who cares? We have a good team.
Uh? Houston's newspapers may be too homeristic me thinks... either that or you misread the article.
Tim Duncan is Top 9 in defensive rebounds per game, Top 7 in total rebounds per game and Top 4 in total rebounds.
For sure no other team has 3 players in the top 25 much less the top 10. only 3 teams even have 2 in the top 25. Surprisingly, the media's "Big 3" doesn't even have anyone in the top 25(garnett is 26). Pierce isn't even in the top 50...so much for the best player in the world...
I can't explain how much I want a Spurs-Celtics finals so the real Big 3 in the league can take all this y bull the Cs have been spewing all over the NBA and shove their nose in it so they know how stupid they've been. There's swagger, and then there's 3rd year players telling the Knicks that they're nothing b/c they don't have rings(wish Lik would have smacked a ). And then when the confetti is sticking to Paul Pierce's tear-soaked cheeks, Rajon Rondo is wondering if he'll still be getting handjobs from s in the VIP w/out the 'ship, and KG is trying to make his way off the court, fearing the taunts of celebrating opponents I want TD to walk up to him, congratulate him on his season, shake his hand and walk away....This way if any of these players ever make it back to the promised land they'll know how they're supposed to act, instead of yalping like a bunch of childish drunken fools.
+1
Washoogunnasaynow is in the top five for worst NBA comercials this year.
+100 to that. I want a rematch with the Lakers with a healthy Big 3. And then we will see how 'good' this celtics team is...
That's why they are the real "Big 3".
