I just saw that on Sportscenter just now, but I can't find it anywhere else online. That would SUCK if that were the case.
Just about to turn off the tv and hit the sack when I see the world wide network run a story saying Auburn is expected to name Muschamp new HC.
Damn, I knew the HC in waiting bull was too good to be true![]()

Well, apparently the network that first broke that story (a local fox affiliate in Mobile) has been called not very credible.
All other reports seem to be based on that. I'll buy it when there's more credible sourcing.
Hasn't Muschamp said he's happy in Texas and in no hurry to be a HC.
IF it's true, shouldn't come as a surprise. Remeber Nick Saban's denials about going to Alabama? Where is he now?
That's just the way it is nowadays in coaching.
Sucks for the Horns, but I wouldn't hold it against Muschamp.
They agreed to a contract to pay him 900k a year and guarantee him a 5-year HC contract when Mack leaves.
It's not going to be signed until next month. I have no idea why.
even if he signed a contract, the only thing holding him to the contract is a buyout which I'm sure the other school would pay out.
same thing when a school fires a coach.......they have to buy out the rest of the contract
nothing about this anywhere else, or on espn's website. didn't dan patrick report this a week ago?
yeah, im not sure how mch i would buy into it yet.
this is one tiny article i found here in town

I bet they took it down.
Typical BSPN jumping the gun.
Its probably someone just trying to get a jump on the story, before its even true. Just like the report that Leach was going to be the Auburn coacch.![]()
Like i thought, it was all a hoax.....just like the bogus Leach story.

Story:
"Muschamp not leaving
By Alan Trubow | Friday, December 12, 2008, 10:32 AM
Defensive coordinator Will Muschamp released a statement saying he’s not leaving Texas.
“I have not interviewed for any jobs. I’m not interested in any jobs,” Muschamp said. “I’m happy here, my family loves Austin and I’m going to be at Texas.”
A TV station reported earlier that Muschamp would be named Auburn’s next head coach today (Friday).
Muschamp recently accepted a coach-in-waiting position at Texas and has continued to say he’s going to be a Longhorn until the Longhorns don’t want him anymore.
I'm sure he'd leave if the money was big enough, but glad to hear he's going to be chest bumping DLs and LBs on the Texas sidelines again.
naming him the "next head coach"for a guy who isn't even close to retirement was stupid.
