I hate it when writer's make assumptions and protray them as fact. Ask the Spurs front office about Rose's contract and you might get 9 out of 10. Ask the fans, and although I like Rasho but bemoan his lack of offensive aggressiveness, I think it goes 9 out of 10 for Rasho's contract.

It's as if team boss Isiah Thomas scours the league for the most undesirable contracts he can, and sets his phaser to "trade." Ask any Spurs or Rockets fan last Wednesday just what onerous contract they'd pay money to get rid of, and the names "Malik Rose" and "Maurice Taylor" would pop up nine times out of 10. New York's payroll increases in '05-06 -- and that doesn't even include the late first-round draft picks Thomas picked up on Thursday -- so the current crew has nothing better to do than to somehow fashion a semblance of chemistry on their way to the draft lottery. Thursday's win over Philadelphia was a start, even if it involved beating a 76ers squad that dressed only eight men and was missing two members of its rotation (three if you count, you know, Chris freakin' Webber).

Well, I for one am glad we have Rasho and his contract instead of Malik and his. I'm not sure I believe that 90% of Spurs fans disagree with me either, but I suppose you could make this thread a poll to find out.

Genghis, I think that would make a good poll although I'm sure the figure isn't as high as 90%. I was just echoing the number provided by the writer. And at this point, after all of the much deserved Malik Lovefest, I don't think we'd get as accurate results as when Rose was one the team and his trading wasn't anticipated.

People had been calling for a Rose trade for at least a year, it wasn't anticipated because it was unlikely, but it was always in the best interest of the franchise.
