Am I missing something? Their 2008 album Dear Science is #1 on several "Best of the Year" lists, so I downloaded it and gave it two listens, and I've got nothing. It's not bad, necessarily, but given that there are thousands upon thousands of albums that are released every year, I figured the near unanimous choice of one of those albums by the industry's experts must be audio euphoria.

I love that album dude. Dancing Choose is probably the best song of the year, IMO.

I like the album pretty good, but TVOTR might be on par with Radiohead as the band every "indie" music critic (whatever the indie means anymore) will violently masturbate to. They've reached the point where they could record an hour of diarrhea sounds and have that album hailed as a transcendent work of genius.
