It's the same people who say Dirk is soft, who pretty much believe that if you are white, non-American, and have some sort of finesse and skill in your game you are soft, not matter stats, head-to-head matchups with other stars, injury recovery and so on.
Everyone that says Dwight Howard is the best center in the league should see how he has constantly gotten his ass handed to him by Yao in the last couple of years.

Here's to hoping that some myths get debunked in the NBA. Yet I don't see it happening very soon. Most of the national media types continue to be "tough" guys which do nothing to debunk those myths.
I know following sports isn't supposed to be rocket science, but once in a while it would be nice to see some debate, any debate, conducted by people who can create concrete arguments and back them up. Some people call statistician, and APBRtricians, geeks but the best arguments about explaining NBA events always come from them.
I'll believe any NBA player is soft when I see them on a Viagra commercial.
