Hey fellow Mavfans, no worries, Mark and Donnie have a great plan on how to salvage the Mavs playoffs hopes. They are keeping our reliable enforcer and offensive juggernaut Stackhouse . Like they say, it would have to be a "no brainer deal' which obviously means, anything elss than Lebron James is bull ! Forget JHo trades, Stack is back.

Dallas Mavericks want to keep Stackhouse for playoff stretch

PHOENIX – There are lots of people who believe Jerry Stackhouse has played his last game for the Mavericks, but the team continues to harbor hope that he can be a useful player in the second half of the season.
President of basketball operations Donnie Nelson said the Mavericks continue to receive calls about Stackhouse, but that trade talks have not produced anything substantive. Stackhouse played eight of the first nine games this season, but has been inactive since Nov. 16 with a right foot injury.

Team officials said he is about a month away from being healthy enough to play. That doesn't mean the 6-6 swingman isn't healthy enough to be traded. But that's not the direction the Mavericks are headed in at the moment.
"Our plan is to have him ready for a playoff push," Nelson said. "Our focus is to get him healthy for the playoffs."
Nelson added that the team is listening to anybody who calls. "That's our job," he said. And the Mavericks are open to a deal as long as it makes sense for all concerned.

What the deal almost certainly won't include is any player coming back to the Mavericks who has a contract extending beyond the 2010 season. Owner Mark Cuban, Nelson and coach Rick Carlisle have worked diligently to ensure the Mavericks will have money under the salary cap for the fertile free-agent class of 2010.

"I wouldn't say it couldn't happen," Nelson said, "but it would really have to be a significant no-brainer."
Those sorts of deals don't come along very often.
The Mavericks, who went into Friday night's game against the Suns with a 22-13 record, have played well enough that they don't feel compelled to be active trade seekers. But as Cuban always says, they will be opportunistic if a deal makes sense.
The players understand that the next five-plus weeks before the trading deadline will include rumors on a daily basis.

"When you sign up for this deal, that's just part of the gig," Jason Kidd said. "You could be traded, for good or bad. The thing is to be professional, if you are one of those candidates. You just have to roll with it.
"We got a lot of talented guys. I'm not going to say Cuban or Coach or Donnie would ever close the door on trying to make us better. That's just the nature of the business. But I like the group of guys we got. We haven't even played our best basketball, and we've found ways to win games ugly.

Mavericks need to trade J-Ho and hope they can land a great free agent next season or 2. I think they are still a good team but not a championship. They might upset a better team in the playoffs. Though the Kidd trade was extremly stupid especially for 2 1st rd draft choices (WTF) Kidd is playing like Kidd but he is old and they have little bench.
