The following is the remaining schedule for the Spurs. Predict the total W-L record for the rest of the season.

    Feb Opponent
    Mon 28 @ Cleveland W

    Mar Opponent
    Wed 2 Toronto W
    Fri 4 Chicago W
    Sun 6 Utah W
    Tue 8 New Jersey W
Wed 9 @ Phoenix W (win, statement game for the Spurs)
    Sat 12 Denver W
    Mon 14 New Orleans W
    Wed 16 Minnesota W
    Fri 18 Charlotte W
Sun 20 @ Detroit W (big win, the Spurs show the rest of league they are the best team in the NBA)
Mon 21 @ New York L (after an 11 win streak, the Spurs lose the 2nd game of the back-to-back... Malik with a big game for NY)
Wed 23 @ Indiana L (overconfidence kill the Spurs, Pop goes ballistic)
[I think the Spurs lose 2 out of the previous 3, but I am hoping for a win against Detroit]
    Fri 25 Atlanta W
Sun 27 Houston W (close win)
Wed 30 Seattle W (big win)

    Apr Opponent
    Fri 1 @ Denver W (close win)
    Sat 2 L.A. Lakers W
    Wed 6 L.A. Clippers W
Thu 7 @ Dallas W (another statement game, the Spurs win)
    Sat 9 @ L.A. Clippers W
Sun 10 @ Golden State L (another loss on a 2nd game of a back-to-back, the Spurs run out of juice).
Tue 12 Portland W (the Spurs clinched the best record in the NBA).
    Wed 13 @ Utah W
    Sat 16 Memphis W
    Mon 18 @ Memphis L
Wed 20 @ Minnesota L (might win this one, depending on who plays, it is Pop's call)

The Spurs go 22-5 the rest of the way and finish with the best record in the NBA (64-18)

    What's your prediction?

Yeah, hard to disagree with 66-18. Since Malik got traded, the NBA will allow the Spurs to play a couple more games to wipe away their tears.

    27 games. 21 wins +/- 1 either way.

    Most likely, 63 and 19.

Only a couple of guys have predicted...

most people assume a final record between 63-19 and 65-17

That means only 4 to 6 more losses. Do all people in this board agree with that?

I think this is waaay too optimistic, based on the performance of the Spurs in the last 3 or 4 games (I am optimistic by nature, so don't count my prediction).

I think they'll win 61. But I'm probably more pessimistic. In the beginning of the season, I think I said they'll win 57.

22-4 to finish. I basically agree with your breakdown RVB...

But no way does Pop let the Spurs head into the playoffs on a 2 game losing streak. No way.

On top of that...you look at those last two games...Well Memphis owns us again this year...I don't see him willingly tanking that game. He is going to want to send a message to them.

And the last game? Minnesota may need that game to make the playoffs...possibly making them our first round opponents...

I think Pop would just as soon NOT have to face Garnett and the Wolves...even when they sucked they have still played us hard in the playoffs...Plus, I am pretty sure Pop remember how deadly Cassell can be in a playoff series...not to mention Spree...

I just don't see him giving the TPups a free pass into the playoffs if he has the choice...he's going to want to put those mad dogs down.

We might lose one of those games or the other...but no way do we lose them both if Pop has any say in it. There's just too many reasons to want to win both or at least 1 of those games.

I think, if Pop has HCA wrapped up, he will rest TD like he did 2 yrs ago against Dallas when Dallas killed SA at the SBC, a game where I wasted my money going to see. So, in that case, we could drop thoses games.

On another note, I think Minn will already have the 8 seed wrapped up at that time. they are starting to play better now.

I said 63 at the very beginning of the year (how many of you of little faith, were even close to that??) after nailing it at 57 last year and one off of 59 the year before (check the records if you have them back that far!!)?

I would now bet 100 bookie points I am within one game either way on this one. TimVP lets set this up as a bet!

    Less than or 58-60____
    60-61_____
    62-64_X_
    65-69 _______
    70 and above (hint impossible)

Maybe so but he's not going to willingly tank 2 in a row.

Tell me the last time he did that?

Pop gets worried about momentum if the Spurs have too many days off...how you think he's going to react to going into the playoffs on a two game losing streak?

Not tank on purpose, but leave TD and Manu out maybe, if they are a little dinged up still.
