The Dale Davis sweepstakes has apparently come down to the Pistons, Indiana and Phoenix, with the Pacers slightly ahead.

"He's going to make a decision (today)," said James "Chubby" Wells, Davis' agent. "What it boils down to is, going to a place that gives him the best chance to be somewhere next year -- and not necessarily with the team he goes to now. He wants to go to a place he can contribute and win and show what he can do."

That's just a report from the Detroit News. Who knows if it's actually factual.

The Spurs are reportedly interested in Alan Henderson too, but he'll likely go back to Dallas.

The Spurs are reportedly interested in Alan Henderson too, but he'll likely go back to Dallas.
By EDDIE SEFKO / The Dallas Morning News

Alan Henderson and the Mavericks have an agreement in principle for the 6-10 forward to return to the team, probably as early as Tuesday.

Henderson was traded with Calvin Booth to Milwaukee last Thursday. The Bucks waived Henderson the following day and he will clear waivers on Tuesday. At that time, he is free to sign with any team.

"We have an agreement," coach and general manager Don Nelson said. "Nothing is official until it is signed. But we feel very good about getting him back."

Nelson said he hopes to have Henderson on the upcoming road trip that starts Wednesday in Los Angeles vs. the Clippers.

Henderson, in his tenth NBA season, played nine seasons in Atlanta before being acquired by the Mavericks with Jason Terry before the start of this season. He was the 16th overall pick by the Hawks in the 1995 NBA draft.

In 52 games this season for Dallas, he averaged 3.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, primarily off the bench.

if you were henderson(you means everyone here) wouldn't you get more playing time with the spurs rather than with the mavs? take this into consideration, the mavs are going to play dampier and van horn alot more than they would play henderson. they have to play van horn more now because you can't bench a guy thats making 15 mil.

The Spurs shouldn't be desperate to pick someone else up if they are confident in Nazr. Whoever they bring in will probably ride IR, that's why I think it will just be a project player for next season.

According to Mark Monteith from Indystar.com, Davis' list is narrowed down to four teams:

"The former Indiana Pacers forward has received interest from the Pacers, Detroit, Phoenix and Cleveland according to his agent James "Chubby" Wells."

According to Chad Ford, he's narrowed it down even more since then. Now it's Pacers and Pistons.

I'd much rather see him in Indy than in Phoenix.

It would be nice to see Davis back in Indy, but as long as Stern keeps Artest suspended, he's no good to them. Better to just go to a contender like the Suns, Pistons and or Spurs.

The ONLY person keeping Artest suspended is the voice in his head telling him to do stupid .
