I believe the opponent team put their best defender against tony in the 4th. Talk about scouting reports. Ariza did great defense in the 4th.
Parker with the ball late in the game = turnover/airball/brick.
Parker is great at racking up points through the first three-and-a-half quarters or so, but it seems that when the opposition shuts down the lane and clamps down tight on D, we only have a few players who can will the ball in the hole.
With the game on the line, I hope Tony will continue going to Tim, Manu, and the Mase Killer.

to me tony looked tired tonight
I noticed the same thing. It stood out because it happened in other games recently, too. Looks like Tony is looking to be the go-to guy at the end. We already have Manu, Tim and now Mason for that. Tony is the 4th end-of-game option, at best. Hope this is addressed before the playoffs.
I've been watching Tony since he first entered the league. For those of you who haven't watched more than the past two games, you might be surprised to know that Tony is a very reliable crunch time player. His confidence seems a little shaken right now for some odd reason, but Tony is usually a fearless player.
Ariza was guarding him for the majority of the game.
This has become a trend and Parker needs to realize this. He has to give the damn ball to Tim or Manu in the 4th. That's what got us the championships.
i rather have hill out there....parker just cant do it in cruch time....too many turnovers like u said.
Not just tonight. This has been a recurring thing over the last several games...outside of the wide open game-winner he hit, he has botched a few end-of-game possessions.
I guess you could say he's not been looking very "clutch."
Tony has the best clutch/4th quarter stats on the Spurs this season.
He hasn't been great in the 4th the past couple games though. Tonight I believe Tony was 1-for-2 in the 4th with 1 turnover. But the Laker D was all over him in the 2nd half compared to the 1st half.
You lost all credibility here.
strongly agreed
Dude played 34 minutes and he looks tired to you.
BTW Hill was playing really well today.![]()
tony has been a very clutch player throughout his career, but those 4th qtr stats are very misleading. Tony had two very questionable passes to Duncan that resulted in TOs, but I guess they assessed those to Timmy. To me Tony looked very gun shy and turnover prone tonight.
Guess I am not the only Spurs fan who shares this concern?
Yeah he nailed that game winner, and I actually was hoping it would reverse the trend that had already begun to appear. But he almost cost us tonight, and he had a big hand in the loss to Orlando, if I remember right.
your right, but against the Lakers Tony has historically not been good. Give the ball to Mase/TD/Manu.
In the 4th, Tony was 1-for-2 with a turnover. Manu was 1-for-3 with 2 turnovers and a missed freethrow.
Neither of them were good in the 4th, but they carried the Spurs through 3 quarters.
It's a team game, Duncan and Mason were the men in the 4th.
this is sickeningly ignorant.(short memories)
more tony vs manu talk, no thanks.
at the Parker haters coming out in force tonight.
actually i think the ball in Manu's hands mean a turnover late in the game.
I think that Tony possesses great scoring ability AS LONG AS THE D ISN'T KEYING ON HIM. When they take away his drive with help and play him close on the perimiter, he sort of dries up.
No that was actually Tony & Manu vs Mason & Tim talk. I was putting Tony and Manu together![]()
I'm convinced a large segment of Spurs fans were dropped on their heads at birth.
