Fisher should have some bad karma coming his way after using his daughter's illness as an excuse to get back onto the Lakers. Even Jerry Sloan recently called him out for it.

The recap of the game on nba.com says: "The late foul spoiled the game for Fisher, who was 4-of-4 from 3-point territory and scored 16 points."
I hate Fisher with a passion ever since he hit that shot against us in the playoffs. Well, Mr. Fisher, looks like we ended up catching the marlin you over sized bald whale.

Yeah, D Fish really isn't a saintly as some think, and hes not as quality a guy as I thought either.
Um, yeah.....gonna need a link on this. Sloan had better have his ducks in a row if he's going to say that Fishers ultimate goal wasn't necessarily treatment for his daughter's potentially life threatening condition, but rather getting back to LA.

Those "gifts" he was referring to seem to be Derek Fisher and Pau Gasol. Fisher was a huge part of the Jazz's run to the Western Conference finals two years ago. After that season, he asked to be let out of his contract so he could live in a city where his daughter could get better treatment for an eye disorder. Fisher immediately signed with the Lakers (the Cavs and the Cleveland Clinic's renowned Cole Eye Ins ute weren't enough). Apparently there's some raw feelings on the Jazz's side about that one.
Saw it somewhere else, too. If Sloan is calling out Fisher, I'm guessing he has to be 100% sure what he's talking about.
Not to mention he was doing some bull flops in that 1st quarter and used his daughter as an excuse to get out of Utah and back to L.A.
I used to think this was a cool professional guy, even after .4, but I don't like him anymore.
Fisher's punk-ass needs to be called out for that. I was hesistant to criticize him at the time. Obviously, Sloan and the Jazz saw the sorriness in his decision too. What goes around, comes around.

Is it *Sloan* calling out Fisher, or the Cleveland-based writer of the article? While the inference is logical it's not clear that Sloan was calling Fisher a gift.
After he fouled Mason on the game winner: Did you see his follow thru twirlette and then he acted like he was gouged in the eye? Ran out of bounds, stopped, poused, and began putting his hand over his eye as if he had been gouged.

Look, I wouldn't have a problem with him asking out of his contract for his daughter, then signing with the lakers since really good doctors seem to gravitate to each coast. The only problem is, his daughter's doctor was in New York, as evidenced by him having to fly to new york all the time to bring his daughter to the doctor. When he was released for the reasons that were stated, I thought, oh he retires or he will sign with the Knicks/Nets. He signs with the Lakers. That is blatently dishonest because if he really thought the best doctors were in LA, why wasn't he flying with his daughter to LA before. LA is much closer to SLC than NY.

I know it pisses Utah off but at the same time I thought Fisher was way overpaid. I believe he was still under that ridiculous 37 million dollar contract he had signed in GS with Mullin. I thought Utah was lucky to get out from that contract.

i can't believe no one else has brings this up. i thought the same thing when he did this.
I called out Fisher on that at the time. It's all bull anyway. Why did he HAVE to go back to the Lakers to get treatment for his daughter? Isn't he on the road the same amount of time anyway? If he was so concerned about the grave illness of his daughter, he should have retired and devoted ALL his time to her. And if money was an issue, he could have always come back to the NBA AFTER she had recovered. That was just a smoke screen.
