Tony Parker : Je suis vachement fier. C’est un grand honneur d’être sélectionné. Ce n’est pas tous les jours que tu as la chance de disputer un tel match avec les vingt-quatre meilleurs jours de la NBA. Je viens de l’apprendre à la télévision. J’étais avec Eva (Longoria) et nous attendions la liste avec impatience. On va pouvoir maintenant se préparer un bon pe week-end à Phoenix.

Que représente cette troisième sélection ?
Tony Parker : Ca montre que je suis régulier et que je ne me repose pas sur mes lauriers. J’essaie vraiment de progresser chaque année. Quand j’ai travaillé l’été dernier à Malibu avec Chip Engelland (entraîneur des Spurs spécialisé dans le shoot), j’avais dans un coin de ma tête le All Star Game. Je l’avais loupé l’année dernière à cause d’une blessure. Je voulais donc vraiment y retourner et montrer que j’avais progressé sur mon tir extérieur et dans les autres secteurs du jeu. Avec cette sélection, je suis récompensé par les coaches. Ca fait vraiment plaisir.

San Antonio occupe la 2e place de la Conférence Ouest, vos statistiques n’ont jamais été aussi bonnes (20,3 points et 6,7 passes). Finalement, cette sélection est logique…
Tony Parker : C’est vrai, je réalise l’une de mes meilleures saisons. C’est pour ça que j’estimais mériter cette place au All Star Game. Je n’ai rien volé. Je suis d’autant plus content que cette sélection vient des coaches. C’est un honneur. Ils ont un regard différent des fans.

Vous allez donc continuer votre collection de maillots.
Tony Parker : Oui, le maillot de Phoenix va rejoindre les deux autres plus les maillots portés durant mes trois res NBA. Et j’espère bien que ça ne s’arrêtera pas là !

I was with Eva (Longoria) and we were awaiting impatiently the list. We will now be able to plan a nice little weekend in Phoenix.


What does this third selection represents for you ?

It shows that I am focused on basketball and that I am working hard. I am trying to improve each year. When I worked last summer in Malibu with Chip Engelland (Spurs’ shooting coach), I had the ASG in the back of my head. I had missed it last year due to an injury. I wanted to have the shot at returning there and show the world that I had improved my outside shooting and in other aspects of my game. With this new selection I am rewarded by the coaches and it makes me truly happy.


San Antonio is at the second place in the Western Conference, your stats have never been this good (20,3 points and 6,7 assists) so we can say that it is a logical choice for the coach to pick you…

It’s true; I am playing one of my best season. This is the reason why I thought that I deserved to be at the All Star Game. It is not a robbery. I am even happier that the selection came from the coaches and it is a great honor. Ils ont un regard différent des fans.

I'm really proud. It's a great honnor. It's not everyday that you are chosen to be in this kind of compe ion with 24 best players. I was with Eva when they announced the list. We are going now to prepare a good we in Phoenix.

What represents this third selection?
It shows I'm regular and I continue to progress. When I've worked last summer in Malibu with Chip, I had this objective in mind. I missed the SG last year because of an injury, I really wanted to do it again and showed my progress regarding my JS and the other sectors of my game. With this selecyion I am rewarded by the coaches. I'm really happy.

SA is now at the 2nd rank in the WC, your stats are the best in your career. This selection is logic.
It's true, I am achieving one of my best season, I didn't steal it. It's even better coming from the coach they have a different look than the fans.

You are going to increase your jersey collection.
