Manu Ginobili
Sophia Young
Sean Elliott
Who would you send out there? The Spurs are also expected to defend their le in the shooting stars compe ion, an event won last season by the trio of Tim Duncan, David Robinson and Silvers Stars player Becky Hammon.
1. Current Baller
2. Legendary Baller
3. Lady Baller
Manu Ginobili
Sophia Young
Sean Elliott
I like that.
I would not mind Hammon being back either.
I think Barry is much brighter a shooting star than Manu. Manu is more capable overall though.
1. Jacque Vaughn
2. Mengke Bateer
3. Juwanna Mann
More seriously, though...
Manu Ginobili (most likely to hit half court shot)
Steve Kerr
Shanna Crossley (when healthy)
Mengke Bateer over Romain Sato? How dare you!
Manu
the Ninja
Becky Hammon
you can rule out manu, they'll use either tony or tim
Sorry, I didn't get to see Sato enough in a Spurs uniform to determine if he's worthy of the NBA Legend spot.
Bateer's shooting with the Spurs sealed the deal for me, though. 4-17 from the field, 0-2 from the FT line, and 1-3 from three-point range.![]()
I'm guessing they'll use Tim & David again, or Tim with someone else (not Sean). Since Tony is playing in the skills challenge, I doubt he'll be in this compe ion (though he was on the team that holds the record).
Bonner
Horry
Becky Hammon
I just hope Becky Hammon isn't involved. I'd love to see Sophia Young, though.
Crossley or Buescher would be my choices from the stars. Though Hammon is clutch as .
I want to see Timmy and David play again and show them who the real long-range shooters are in this league.
Kerr won't do it while he is working for PHX unless its for them.
if it ain't broke...

I hope it's Tim, David, and Becky again.
They just seemed to enjoy it, and when they won it was like they didn't even care. They seemed like it was just a fun joke...
The interview was funny as imo...

I don't think I've ever seen the same Shooting Stars Team play twice, not just for the Spurs, but for any of the teams.
In addition to Kerr being the Phoenix GM...he was on the first or second Spurs Shooting Stars Team IIRC, and I've never seen anyone do a Shooting Stars Comp twice, not just the Spurs, but any of the teams.
Don't worry though...I have a feeling Kerr isn't going to the Suns GM for much longer if that's all that's keeping him from doing it.
In that case, I think they'll send Manu and Sean. Don't know who they'll send from our girls varsity team because I don't know who's on the roster outside of Hammon.
I think you're right that the winning team returns...but I don't believe they have the same Legend and WNBA player. The Tim Dave and Becky team was the second Spurs Shooting Stars Champs, the first one was Kerr, Parker and a WNBA player, I don't remember who she was but it wasn't Becky Hammon, and I don't remember Kerr or Parker defending that le. I think Kerr was replaced by Gervin and he sucked pretty hard. Parker might have been part of it but I don't think the WNBA player was the same...
The NBA player will probably be an All Star so you can see why he would return since most teams only have one or two of those...but it kind of makes sense for them to switch out the Legends and WNBA players so they can all have a chance to play....especially the WNBA players. So I don't think Dave or Hammons will be back.
Tim and David again would be great.
The 2004 team was Manu, Kerr and Jennifer Azzi (they finished 2nd - barely).
2005 - Spurs didn't have a team.
The 2006 team (the one that holds the record) was Parker, Kerr and Kendra Wecker.
The 2007 team was same as 2006, but Gervin instead of Kerr.
