I have a random question, How do you one someone is your best friend? I have been in the process of changing friends lately, and I feel like my old best friends are not my best friends any more per se. I mean we are still close but no where as close as they could be. At the same time I have been hanging out with new people, and they are becoming closer than the old friends.Thats is where the question came from. Are the old friends even my best friends anymore now that we are drifting?
P.S. this posting is what happens to me when I am bored at work
Friends come and go and life goes on.
That is so true![]()

The best friend is the one that gives you the most money. Duh.
This forums vagina is at full spread this morning.
And your point is.....?
We must have really different types of friendship, because the all of 2 people I consider "best" friends don't come and go.
I continually update a top-25-type ranking of my friends, including a list of "others receiving votes."
That's how I know.
I have had different best friends at different stages of my life- for example my best friend now is different than the one I had while a student at Bible College.
To me there is a difference between seasonal ( even if the season last for years) best friends and lifelong friends- though both are great.
LMAO @ Bible College
I'm glad I added amusement to your day.![]()
What I meant was that even "best" friends can come and go. I've got friends who I still keep in touch that I've known since kindgergarten and so on and quite a few Marine Corps friends as welll But there have been many people in my life who I've considered good friends and perhaps even "best" who I lost touch with or for what ever reason we drifted apart. It happens but maybe just for me.
True "Best" friends do last forever though.
And there are different types of friendships, at least for me there is.
But I get your point.
I concur.![]()
Older friends are not necessarily best friends.
It's all a matter of how you precieve what a friendship is.
My best friend and I have been friends for over 10 yrs now. We hit it off with one another from the very first day we met.
I wouldn't trade her for anything now ...

See, I hate that the term "best friend" gets thrown around as much as it does, because then for "true" best friends, you have to qualify it with that "true" prefix. I agree that there are different types of friendship, some friends are more like "acquaintances" and blah blah but then you get further into semantics ... sometimes the English language just isn't articulate enough for certain things.
blake is a girl?
i knew it...

He could be a guy who has a girl as his best friend.
