    18 pts, 7-15 FG, 2-5 3FG, 2-2 FT.

With all the arguing on this forum about Manu vs Tony and Duncan's up and down game, Rasho's lack of intensity, etc. Bruce Bowen has quietly turned up his offensive game and is averaging career high's in scoring. He has been a suprise scoring option for the Spurs this season, as evidenced by tonight's game (and let's not forget that one against LA where he outscored KOBE!). He has been doing this while still maintaing his defense. Very nice!

    Go Bruce!

P.S Let the arguing on Brown>Bowen begin

Bowen is a very hard worker and I'm glad he's with this club. I mean at Bowens age who else do you know that shows up and works on his game constantly?

Nice game from Bowen. He hit the timely shots and was a force on the offensive end. I liked it best when he took it to the rack and scored off the dribble.

Bowen is the consumate team guy, willing to do WHATEVER to win games. We were so lucky to get him back in 01 when we had a gaping hole at the 3, and it became clear that Sean's comeback had reached it's end.

Thank you for being a true Spur, Bruce.

Bowen and Brown make a good combo. They have had an effect on the guys they have been guarding. I think Pop has been letting Brown spell Bowen in guarding the other teams best perimeter players, and I loved how Brown defended James and TMac last week. But Bowen has really improved his mid-range jumper to go along with his 3 pt shooting, and if he can stay consistent, I'm with what Sean said, the spurs will be very hard to beat in a 7 game series.

Devin's shot has disappeared long enough. It's way past time he starts hitting some shots. Good defense is one thing, but he's turned into the Bruce Bowen of old who's a liability on offense.

Yup, Bruce has silently developed a pretty reliable midrange jumper. I actually don't cringe anymore when he shoots it. Props, Bruce.

Bowen has also stepped up his FT shooting, he is not stellar but no longer Shaq or Rasho like there.

    It happens. But it's rare.

Bruce also has taken quite an active role in helping the younger guys. During several games lately when he's on the bench for a breather, he will get up during freethrows (for example) and give Devin, Barry, etc words of advice on the sidelines about defensive positioning, etc. He also has been the one talking to refs during timeouts about missed calls, etc. Very coach-like behavior.

Bowen is to the Spurs what Jason Varitek is to the Red Sox.
He is the leader of the team, he sets the tone with his D and his smart basketball.

I heard he did well for the little time he had to prepare. I believe Malik was supposed to be the speaker for that.

I admit I wasn't so sure that Bowen would be a great contributor this year. I was especially concerned with his lack of confidence to take the shot in the playoffs last year. So if he's working on career high stats this year, props to him. Conversely, I thought Devin would make a bigger contribution than he has. (unless he inspired Bowen's play. )

Seeing the mutual love and his college major, it's all but a done deal.
