Microsoft's off my computer for good. Linux is finally reaching a point where hardware support is decent, and my system is so much faster with my LinuxFromScratch / Slackware + GNOME hybrid than it ever was under Windoze. It boots way more quickly, shuts down more quickly, never gets sluggish if it hasn't had a reboot in the last day or two (unlike XP which slows to a crawl without regular reboots or 98 which will always force a reboot through some kind of crash after more than a day or two of use). With a reiserfs filesystem it still takes the same time to boot even if it was shut down improperly. The system is stable as , and a of a lot more secure too. The only time I ever reboot it is if I acidentally pull the power cable out of the wall or build a new kernel.
