He puts his money in French club ASVEL after he is told that they will get Euroleague A contract and that in future this will lead to be part of Stern's NBA Europe division 10 years from now. That this is talks that owners of club and Euroleague President and Stern have all had.

But ASVEL did not get Euroleague contract as soon as after Parker purchased the club they were denied this.

As the new strategic plan of Euroleague was approved, 13 A licenses were give to the clubs with the best historical results. These teams will have guaranteed spots in Europe's elite basketball club compe ion until 2012 when the new plan will be revised:

Barcelona, CSKA Moscow, Fenerbahce, Efes Pilsen, Lottomatica Roma, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Montepaschi Siena, Olympiacos, Panathinaikos, Real Madrid, Tau Ceramica, Unicaja, Zalgiris.
