Wow. I wouldn't have told him.
I'm a little puzzled as to why...see, I was dealing a dresser over craigslist and this dude said he wanted to buy it. The price was $250, so he said he would overnight me a check to include the cost of the item plus shipping because he wanted me to have it sent somewhere. So today UPS comes and brings me a check for 4,600...and I'm like what the , that's way too much. I've contacted the buyer about it, so we'll see what happens.
But part of me wants to just go deposit into my bank and let that be that.![]()
Wow. I wouldn't have told him.
This is a SCAM!!
DO NOT DEPOSIT THE CHECK...
more to follow
Seriously?
It's a scam, you deposit the check, send him the remainder (4600.00 - 250), then when the check comes back as a fake you have to pay the bank back 4600.00 and he makes 4350.00
Only deal locally when using Craigslist.
EDIT: But the good news is that this scammer wasted money overnighting you a fake check...
Scam:
Send large fake check to some one selling something on a website.
Have them deposit the money in their personal account, then ask them to wire the money back to you via Western Union.
When that happens the bank will honor the withdrawal with real money.
When the bank finds out that the check was fake the mark/sucker is then personally on the line for ALL of the funds taken out.
PM, who's that chick on your sig?
Advanced internet hint:
If you do a right click and select properties on most images, the file name usually has the chicks name in it.
Emma something in this case, it seems.

wow....the only problem I see with this scam is that passing fake checks is a crime. Why wouldn't the proper authorities be able to track the perp down rather quickly?
It doesn't give her last name.
I'm hoping she's done some porn.
The check has no identifiable personal information, or is a very good copy of a real check.
There was no return address on the check to begin with, I would guess.
This kind of thing is too hard to track down, and prosecutors and police have not, as of yet, really put any resources into tracking these people down.
There is an FBI task force, if memory serves, but they only really look for really active scammers.
Good luck. I would report it, but law enforcement doesn't seem to take this s*** very seriously.
I would personally put a bullet in the head of anyone convicted of this, as it really hits my "how to piss RG off" nerve. I hate scammers. A LOT.
Take me to lunch!
People are getting really nervy with using fake checks.
I work in retail and am hearing more and more horror stories about rip off attempts and successes.
Sad world.
so where do you send the remainder?
Yeah Angel.......I think it's about time we get rid of checks all together and just go with a microchip implanted in either the right hand or the forehead.
You're a regular one joke comedy machine.![]()
Look in the corner of the picture. Emma O'Neil.
dude careful it's a scam. It's how my bro lost 4 g's. He sold something to them for like 500$ and they sent him a 4 g check. He sent it back and the bank pulled out 4 g's from my brothers account and got scammed.
I cant really tell if you are laughing or you're pissed.

oh.....so that's how it works.....
I missed the other 5 posts that explained it.
ok I see everyone on here knows what's up
glad I could have made it clear for someone slow like you
I'm in love.
Now I have to check if she's done any porn.
I was really laughing.![]()
