"He's a good player, but everything he's done I've invented, so I'm not impressed,'' O'Neal said. "For me to get my eyes wide open about another big man, he'll have to do something that I haven't seen before or something that I haven't invented. Everything that he's done, I've invented it.''

    Suns-Magic Preview
Once the center of the Magic Kingdom, Shaquille O'Neal returns to Orlando to face the player many consider the NBA's best center: Dwight Howard.
O'Neal, though, is not ready to pass the torch to the Magic big man. Especially with how the Phoenix center has been playing the past two games.
The two former No. 1 overall draft picks meet for the first time this season Tuesday night at Amway Arena as O'Neal and the Suns (34-25) look for their seventh straight victory against Orlando.

It's the first time he has posted back-to-back 30-plus point games since March 5-7, 2004, with the Lakers. The last time O'Neal had three straight 30-plus point games was March 30-April 4, 2003, when he had four in a row.
``I've been doing it since 1992,'' said O'Neal, who averaged 27.2 points and 12.5 rebounds for Orlando from 1992-96. ``If you don't believe it, Google me.''

shaq was far more refined than DHo coming into the league, and still is really. He's always been a power player but his footwork and touch around the rim are great to this day. It's easy to hate his personality, but not his talent.

I have no idea but people who take his stuff about how great he is completely serious need to lighten up. I don't think he's 100% serious when he says everything I've done I've invented.

No he's not. That's Amare Stoudemire undoubtedly. Idk how Shaq is insecure by making jokes about how awesome he is.

No different from Muhammed Ali "I am the greatest, I am the greatest of all time" if he can back it up and put his money where his mouth is.

O yeah him to but he was more open about his insecurity. IMO the worst insecurity is Amare's type where he does/says stupid stuff like get a "Black Jesus" tattoo and talk about bringin out his gorilla game to cover his inferiority complex up.

I like Shaq's point of view on individual performance.

"I could care less about what I do, I'm here for team play, I'm here for the team to do well. If we don't win then none of that matters. Excuse my freakin French".

Dwight Howard is a scrub...easy W for Phoenix tonight.

I love Shaq, everything he says is real..comedic gold..

he takes it very personally when somebody compares younger players to him, or big men in general..

the only big men in the NBA he always praises are Duncan and Yao..Duncan for his accomplishments, and Yao for his general at ude and humility..

he shows love to Amare, but you can make sure Shaq will on him once he leaves Phoenix, I guarantee that..

he's right though. offensively, i doubt howard ever comes close to the footwork, passing, and sheer dominance that the diesel had.

i really dont understand how people can hate on shaq. he says y things sometimes but i think u gotta take it tongue in cheek.

did you see the rest of the stuff, Shaq has to be the most arrogant prick that has ever played the game.

Did Dream, Jordan, or anybody else of his "So-Called" caliber ever make statements like that, what a conceited bas .

Magic center Dwight Howard said he was "shocked" at some of the things Suns center Shaquille O'Neal has said about him.

"I try not to think about it. Some of the things I hear, I am shocked to hear him say that," said Howard, his trademark smile gone.

    What has Shaq said?

Well, it’s all pretty much a variation on the same adolescent theme: I’m the original NBA Superman and Dwight can’t carry my, er, cape.

"You know, it’s normal for a kid to copycat his idol, but you know he can never be this good," Shaq has said.

Shaq was asked by CBSSports' Ken Berger recently if Howard was the closest thing to being the next Shaq. O’Neal scoffed.

"No. Not at all. He’s a good player. He can jump. But no," he said. "I was the type of player that they had to have secret meetings and change the rules and do all that. Probably never be another me. He’s a good player, but everything he’s done, I’ve invented. So I’m not impressed."

Sports Illustrated asked O’Neal --- who sports a Superman tattoo and often wears Superman pajama bottoms to practice --- whether Howard’s Superman shtick bothered him.

"Doesn’t bother me. I can’t be impressed by something I invented in ’92 (his first year in Orlando) . I mean, you look at what he is doing, I’ve been there and done that," O’Neal said. "Every street he is driving down in Orlando, I have been on that street. Every nightclub, every restaurant. . .. I have been there and done that.

"Until he wins three, four championships, then we can talk about him. But right now, he is just like every other big guy. ‘You can run and jump, but you haven’t won yet."’

Either way, i am going to ask him for an autograph as i will be seated in section 117 row 2 at the phoenix/rockets game this friday

Thank you Shaq. Shaq confirmed what I have been saying all along for the past 2 years....Dwight Howard doesn't do anything impressive/spectacular.

If my opinion on that didn't matter, then how about the opinion of the game's best center/big man? Shaq said it best.

Dwight Howard is just an overrated scrub...
