    Only Spurs fan that doesn't expect a win.

    Pop giving Gooden and Ginobli more time to rest and recover leaves some of our important pieces away from the table. For morale sake, it could be reasoned (probably incorrectly) that a loss with them would be devastating. However, they both haven't played in a long time. Neither could make a significant contribution immediately in this game. And if we lost with them playing and they didn't play their best games, we would know that it was due to the inactivity and getting acclimated to being on the team. So, I don't know that a loss with them playing would be that harmful. I don't think it would mean anything.

    A loss without them means even less.

    Nevertheless, after the rust is off and they are all recovered, then I think that they will be necessary for us to win a series against the Lakers and that is pretty obvious.

    However, are they necessary to win a game at home against the Lakers? Most of the time, yes. However, it is possible to win against the Lakers without them at home.

    Nevertheless, I predict the Lakers to win this game, although I hope we win.

    i think the spurs need to win. have to start playing psychological games with the lakers. make them think they can't win at the at&t center. make them fear it.
