Ginobili should rest, with Duncan and Nazr back, we have more than enough to win against Denver.

Duncan improves, Ginobili questionable: The Spurs expect Duncan and Nazr Mohammed to play tonight against Denver, but remain unsure about Ginobili's status.
Ginobili didn't play in Wednesday's loss in Phoenix after straining his groin the previous night against New Jersey. A sore shoulder and hip also have recently bothered him.
Ginobili participated in part of Friday's practice and will be re-evaluated this morning.
"His shoulder is OK and his hip is still a bit of a problem, but his groin is the most worrisome," Popovich said. "That's the scariest thing because you know that can linger."
Popovich said he would be surprised if Duncan didn't play tonight.
Duncan sprained his right ankle Sunday, but played 30 minutes against the Nets on Tuesday. Popovich held him out of Wednesday's game against the Suns because he didn't want him playing on consecutive nights so soon after suffering the injury.
Mohammed, who has missed the past four games with a strained groin, practiced Friday without any problem.

If Duncan and Nazr both play, sit Manu. It can only help.
, sit him Tonight and Monday, vs N.O.
start barry for the upteenth time and see if he can pull his hippie head out of his ass.
Dont hesitate to bench his ass for Devin Brown.
PS.
I think Mike Wilks earned some PT vs Earl Boykins IMO after the Suns game.
Manu still didn't look very good today when they showed him so I hope (especially since Tim's going to play) that he'll sit out and recover.
I don't want to see Wilks play at the expense of Beno. If Beno can pick up some of Manu's minutes, then fine.
Beno is the better option at the backup point position, Mike Wilks hasn't done to change that.
not saying he should take Beno's minutes.
But wouldn't Wilks match up better against Boykins than Beno???
come on.
I think the only "matchup" with Boykins is Parker, and that whoever the backup is they are going to get used on D. If that is the case, then I want Beno playing, since he runs the offense so well.
Well I hope Nazr sees some quality minutes against Denver. With only 21 games left, he really needs to get in there and get acclimated if he's going to be useful come playoff time.
Well, I for one am desperate to see Nazr in action. Will he be s-m-o-o-t-h, or will he clutch? A lot is riding on his performance and the poor kid knows it. He must be feeling some amount of pressure as he approaches this game. I know he made a brief appearance, but he knew, that we knew, that not all that much was expected of him. Now, the poor kid has had game after game on the injured list, while Spurs' fans await his for-real appearance.
The wait has served two purposes, of course: Time for fans to get over the trade of Malik and time for fans to give a nod to injury in general - i.e., Tim and Manu.
Oh, Pop! You are such an overt manipulator!!! I know what you're doing, and if I know, so does everyone else.
When I hear the term "CIA Pop," I have to laugh; this is so ludicrous! Pop is an open book...![]()
the Suns made a record of 53 rbds against the Spurs in Phoenix. with TD and Nazr now playing, being this team's top rebounders, hope we can dominate the boards again w/ Denver. Marcus Camby has been playing well lately, and Martin who didn't play the last time is eligible. We can't underestimate this guys, i think Denver is one or the ONLY team who didn't lost a game since the All-Star. They want the W really bad bec a loss would give them identical record w/ Minny. Scary.
BTW, Camby sat out last night bec. of strained hamstring(?), against the Blazers, is he eligible to play?
I would rest Gino some days. Barry, Beno and Devin would get more minutes to get into rythm. Gino will be a lot better if he is healthy... The Playoffs are more important than the record, especially since Sea and Phx lost last night! No worries if they lose one or two games more.
Manu played 37, 35 and 35 minutes before only playing 24 minutes against the Nets, and then subsequently not playing against the Suns.
In the two games that he played 35 minutes, I saw him ask to come out in the first quarter before it was even his regularly scheduled time to come out. At that time, I knew something must have been wrong.
I don't think it's any coincidence that after three 35+ minute games, he finally broke down.
When I say Manu should play closer to 30 mpg than 35, I get a lot of criticism here. But this is an example of why.
It's not a knock on Manu; I think he's awesome. But he plays so all-out, that IMO it's better he stays near 30. Again, I think he can be productive in 35 mpg at times, he's just not going to make it through a whole season if he gets those extra minutes consistently.
^^^ The ginobili nuts usually do go nuts at that thats true.
IMO its just smart.
Ginobili should average IMO about 25 to 28 minutes a game the rest of the year. Save him for 30 and 35 minute games in the playoffs.
Wilks had a better game than Beno against the suns, seems Beno has hit the wall the past few weeks
A lot of people here forgets Manu played in the olympics last summer, and unlike timmy, his game is much more tiresome. However, I think he will prove wrong a lot of people next season, regarding his stamina.
I think you may be right. I can't ever see him being a 39-40 minute player, but I think somewhere in Parker's 33 minute area would be alright for next year, once he's rested up over the summer. However, I think he will prove wrong a lot of people next season, regarding his stamina.
Kori, you and timvp scoped that one out a long time ago. You both deserve the "kluby". Since there is only one "kluby", maybe you can take turns with it, you know, sort of like having the Stanley Cup for a day!

Beno's been playing excellent as of late, what Beno are you watching?
Wilks has played one good game, late in the season. That's not grounds for taking away Beno minutes, and he's too damn small to play the 2.

Spurs guard Manu Ginobili practiced on Friday and will be re-evaluated on Saturday before it is determined whether he can play against the Nuggets, reports the San Antonio Express-News. He didn't play against the Suns on Wednesday because of a strained groin that he suffered the night before. He has also been battling shoulder and hip injuries. "His shoulder is OK and his hip is still a bit of a problem, but his groin is the most worrisome," head coach Gregg Popovich told the paper. "That's the scariest thing because you know that can linger."

We'd recommend leaving Manu on your pine for at least one more game to see how he deals with the groin injury. Remember, Jerry Stackhouse came back too soon from his groin injury and it is still costing him time. If he looks good and can play his usual 30 minutes a night, feel free to get him back into your lineup.
Old news. The latest is that he's not going to play.
The ginobili nuts usually do go nuts at that thats true.
I'm a Ginobili fan, and I typically cringe if I see his minutes go north of 30 by too much. Phoenix game not withstanding![]()
