another day at the office for jordangreat guy.
BEAVERTON, Ore. -- Michael Jordan came to Beaverton on Thursday to make a 12-year-old's wish come true as part of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Jordan, who was recently named Chief Wish Ambassador, met with Leone one-on-one at the Nike World Headquarters and the boy was hosted to VIP treatment all day at Nike Headquarters.
Leone talked basketball with Jordan, who he said is his biggest hero, and then was given a pair of custom-laser designed shoes in a custom-made laser-designed box, Make-A-Wish Foundation officials said.
"It was so cool and it made me really happy," Leone said. "I admire him and he's my favorite basketball player. I'll remember this day for my whole life."
Leone has acute lymphoblastic leukemia -- a cancer of the white blood cells.
According to the foundation, Jordan has granted more than 175 wishes out of the group's 174,000.
