It is not just the Spurs, it is everything in general that they poorly cover.

Kornheiser is worthless...but Wilbon has usually shown he's competent when it comes to basketball.

Sure, the show's full of gimmicks, but so is everything else on ESPN.

Tim Duncan is 24-6 in playoff series in his career as the main man.

    That's 80%.

Kobe is 3-3 as the main man.

    That's 50%

    I'll go with Duncan.

Not even right at all. You can not base everything on a regular season win. That and come on...besides getting the Lakers to the Finals last yr and choking, what has Kobe done with the Lakers since Shaq left? 1-non playoff appearance, 2 1st round playoff losses, and 1 Finals choke.

I'm pretty sure basing it off on last year's playoff series is what they're doing.

This Spurs team is way different that last years Playoff team.

Hill, Mason, Bonner, and Gooden > Vaughn, Udoka, and Horry's corpse from last year by ALOT. It's not even close.

In the 2007 Finals, the Cabs had beaten us both times in the regular season.

Regular season games mean nothing in the playoffs in the NBA.

That is very true. And that year EVERYONE was talking about how we did not beat them in the Regular Season, and LeBron had also come off that moster series against the Pistons.

we have a deeper backcourt but as of now our frontcourt is just as weak, unless Gooden is a monster the same thing will happen if we meet again

The problem last year wasnt our Defense so much it was our Offense and we'd go thru some serious droughts...which is understandable when you had Vaughn, Udoka, and Horry out there. This year we upgraded with Mason, Hill, and Bonner. I think Gooden will bring alot to this team when it's all said and done. The one thing Pop has this year is more options with his big men, last year he only had TD, Horry, and Fab mostly. And Horry was pathetic in last years playoffs except for Game 7 against the Hornets pretty much. I remember him being right under the basket for a simple lay-up, and instead of that, he'd kick it back out to someone past the 3-pt line. It's like he was scared of something. This year Pop has some options with the big men, if he wants to get some low-post D he can go with TD and Kurt Thomas. If he wants some low-post scoring and rebounding he can go with TD and Gooden. If he wants someone who knows the system and with some smarts, he can go with Fab, and finally if he wants someone who can stretch the floor, he'll go with Bonner.

Eh, they observe the here and now, and if they matched up RIGHT NOW, I would agree. Too many variables between now and if it happens however, injuries, one team could get hot, players can get hot or cold. I remember 2003 the Spurs didn't get any respect against the Lakers in the second round, rightfully so, and they ended up squeeking out the series.

Kobe was the 'main man' in the 01 series against the Spurs. Outplayed Shaq on both ends. Besides, that was the REAL NBA finals. The East was a joke that season.

So that's 2-0 against the Spurs with Kobe as the main man.

I'll go with the Lakers this season.

With a healthy Spurs team, i think it is Spurs 40% - 60% Lakers.

Without a healthy Manu and the real Duncan, it is Spurs 5% - 95% Lakers.
