    Coach K's joke gets some in news media claiming he blasted Obama. Did he?

    We'll take this step-by-step:

    Yesterday, ESPN reported about the NCAA men's basketball bracket that President Obama filled out for the sports network. The president, as we wrote, thinks North Carolina will win it all.

    The news, not surprisingly, elicited a response from one of the Tarheels' biggest rivals -- Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski. Here's how the Associated Press reported Coach K's words:

    "Somebody said that we're not in President Obama's Final Four, and as much as I respect what he's doing, really, the economy is something that he should focus on, probably more than the brackets," ... Krzyzewski said with a laugh from the Blue Devils' first-round site in Greensboro, N.C.

    Today, ABC News' Political Punch blog added that:

    Coach K did try to brush it off: "Why would I care about that? I love the guy, and I think he's gonna be great."

    Still, news sites that generally get the "conservative" label are producing headlines and analyses that make it sound like Krzyzewki did something of a reverse slam over the president -- politically:

    Drudge_2 -- "Duke coach slam dunks Obama," Drudge declares.
    -- "Duke coach to Obama: Worry about the economy, not NCAA picks," says FoxNews.com.
    -- "One can't help agreeing with Coach K," says Townhall.com.

    So, decide for yourself whether there's been much ado about nothing when it comes to Coach K and the president.

    Coach K was joking, unless his evil laugh means something different, but it is pretty funny to see people take runs at him for making a pretty innocuous statement.
