Uhhh...you realize it's illegal to turn anyone away, right? These were whacko's and drug users abusing the system and there wasn't a damn thing they could do about it..
You'd think they could so some sort of reverse claim and sue the people abusing the system, or get the cops on them, or something like that.
What does this have to do with nationalized health care?
Actually, they're only required to provide life-saving treatment. However, the hospitals and ER personnel were so afraid of bad publicity and lawsuits that they started treating everything - and now it's totally out of control!
