WASHINGTON (AP) -- Federal regulators on Wednesday fined CBS a record $550,000 for Janet Jackson's ``wardrobe malfunction,'' which exposed the singer's breast during the Super Bowl halftime show.
The Federal Communications Commission voted unanimously to slap each of the 20 CBS-owned television stations with the maximum indecency penalty of $27,500. The total penalty of $550,000 is the largest fine levied against a television broadcaster. Most of the FCC's bigger fines have been against radio stations.
The agency's five commissioners decided not to fine CBS' more than 200 affiliate stations, which also aired the show but are not owned by the network's parent company, Viacom.
MTV, a Viacom subsidiary, produced the Feb. 1 halftime show, which featured Jackson and singer Justin Timberlake performing a racy duet. At the end, Timberlake ripped off a piece of Jackson's black leather top, exposing her right breast to a TV audience of about 90 million.
Timberlake blamed a ``wardrobe malfunction,'' and CBS was quick to apologize to viewers. The breast-baring song generated a record number of complaints to the FCC -- more than 500,000sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news...&type=lgns
all this over a freaking breast??? The USA's priorities are ed up. We allow the kind of total crap on today's television primetime like all thses reality shows that show couples going into bedrooms to have sex out of wedlock and they get all freaked out over a breast that shows for less than 1 second....this just makes me sick.

BTW, did everybody hear that Jessica Simpson has been cast as Daisy Duke in the new Dukes of Hazzard movie? So far the cast is:
Simpson - Daisy Duke
Johnny Knoxville - Luke Duke.
Sean William Scott - Bo Duke.
This potentially has a pretty high crap factor. I can see the dialog now:
Bo - Dude, where'd we park the General?
Luke - I don't know. SOMEBODY SHOOT ME WITH A TASER!
Daisy - Umm...I don't get it.
I think it will probably be about how Roscoe catches them in like 30 seconds and they get sent up river for life. Then Enis marries Daisy. The end. I think a remake with those guys isn't worthy of a MTV music awards skit.

to stay on topic, last week, Monday night football was on a 5 second delay, and i think they said it was because of the Janet jackson fiasco.....I call bull , and I think it was because someone got their panties in a bunch when Al Michaels made an off the cuff remark regarding Kerry flipflopping.....(not to turn this into a political thread either)...but i thought it was funny.
I guess everybody knows this, but "The Dukes of Hazzard" is based off the movie "Moon Runners". Look it up if you haven't. That movie is a lot different than the TV show.

Basicly the Bo plays the guitar and runs moonshine with Luke. Luke sleeps with several different women and that includes BOSS HOG'S WIFE!!!! Uncle Jessie dies from running a load of moonshine the boys were supposed to run. Oh yeah and guys, there is NO DAISY!! ARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!! There is a chick that hooks up with Bo, I can't remember if she is supposed to be Daisy, but that's it. Roscoe is not a bumbler and there are no Enis or Cooter charaters. Oh and Mrs. Hog is not a swine.
