Yes, I know he's with the Heat, but he is still my favorite individual player in the NBA right now.
Very happy he never got there before D-Rob.
As a result of that I am very happy he ain't on there in piss and purple.
What has he accomplished in Miami yet, though?

I've gotta agree with adidas11 on this one. He's been the biggest figure in the game (in more ways than one, haters) for a long time now. I'm amazed he hasn't been on one already! As far as basketball players on the box go, it'll probably be one of the top sellers of all time. I really can't believe he hasn't been on it before...look at the man! He definitely eats his Wheaties...and yours...and your mama's, your kids', your neighbors'...
Shaq has for all his supposed dominance has only one scoring le, no rebounding les, no block les and has earned absolutely no championships without another top 5 player - Kobe yet (and one can make the case he lucked into another with the clutch Wade).
Plus he has layed down at times and for all the hate on Kobe, remember that Shaq also would not take less money to help the team in LA.
We are all supposed to worship that? You all go ahead and worship this over-hyped phenomen. As for me I will hold my applause and I have seen far better centers in my life (Wilt, Russell, Kareem, and David in his prime + Hakeem)

He doesnt need scoring les to be dominant, you dont have to like him but the reason the Lakers even have 1 championship is all Shaq. Kobe probably wont make them without him.
Shaq definately deserved to be on the box well before this time.

I am not ignorant he is still a great player.
I just hate having him pushed down by media as perhaps the greatest center ever when he has many holes in his resume (and in his game with his limited offensive arsenal).

see he helped the heat this year to the best record
but the pacers elimated themselves this year
and pistons are not as good this year as last year
I would say the heat without shaq this year would be close if not in first place without the fat boy
heat did ok without him last year
anyteam with two superstars would have the best record in east
I dare say if they had duncan instead of shaq they would even have a better record
