Interesting. Not sure what the point is unless Manu is going to be out for a while. He's another small two guard.
SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Spurs today announced that they have signed guard Dion Glover to a 10-day contract. Glover, a five-year NBA veteran, started the 2004-05 season with Ulker Istanbul in the Turkish Basketball League.
Glover was selected by the Atlanta Hawks (20th overall) in the 1999 NBA Draft after his sop re year at Georgia Tech. The Marietta, Georgia native spent his first four NBA seasons with the Hawks (1999-2003) seeing action in 273 games. He split the 2003-04 season between Atlanta and Toronto. The 6-5 guard has averaged 8.3 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 287 career games.
Earlier today the Spurs placed guard Mike Wilks on the injured list with left knee patella tendinitis. Wilks is averaging 1.4 points and 0.5 assists in 4.7 minutes per game this season.
Interesting. Not sure what the point is unless Manu is going to be out for a while. He's another small two guard.
Damn, another patella tendinitis case. Are their joints not in shape to kneel down and kiss Pop's @$$ enough? Or are they doing it too much?

I wonder what type of stats he was putting up in that Turkish league. He's put up some pretty good numbers ... however, he's been on some horrible team.
He's also an ex-teammate of Nazr Mohammed. I wonder if that has anything to do with it.
That's what I was thinking, but I hope they are just trying to get another shooter or something. Not sure what the point is unless Manu is going to be out for a while.![]()
Looks like Glover was waived a month a go from that Turkish team.
Glover, in his first season with Ulker, averaged 8.5 points and 3.2 rebounds in 14 Euroleague games, but saw his playing time reduced as the season went along. Glover boosted his numbers to 11.2 points and 3.6 rebounds in the Turkish League.
Well, he can score a bit, not much else. I don't get why they just don't IR Manu at this point.
Weird! they can't trade anybody now, right? So why pickup another 2 unless Manu is more injured than we've been told.
From a strictly needs standpoint we need a long SF backup more than another guard.
He's a fairly strong player with a nice post-up game. He's not a shooter, but he can score as Chump mentioned.
As mentioned yesterday in the Derrick Dial thread, on the 15-man roster...2-guard was the hole, as long as Linton is okay. Linton must be showing them something.
Could be an audition for next year. If I'm Barry, I don't buy any damn real estate in SA. Glover can shoot, he can rebound a little, and he must have shown some defensive ability on film or RC wouldn't have gone this far.
I don't think he will see much playing time. Maybe he is just some kind of insurance. I don't expect to see him on the court a lot.
It's a 10-day contract...so it's just a look-see and some insurance. I don't ever remember thinking of Glover as a guy with an outside shot. I have liked his game working the matchups on isos while posting up.
I think he's so-so on D, as best as I can remember.
he is not a usa ci izen so he is spurs material
Born: October 22, 1978 in Marietta, Georgia
I think Ducks meant he's not a female maybe.

HAHA. I think It is a great addition for the spurs for a 10 day contract. He numbers look pretty good.
Yeah a 10-day isn't that big a deal. Too bad Charles Smith's team is doing so well....

Seems weird to me. Can't have enough shooting guards, I guess. Easier to find than SFs. Why not Dial?
I don't get it.
Is there any long 3 with relatively good D unemployed in this league? That type of player would be worth pursuing...
What will be his number?
