David Robinson was an amazing player and definitely deserved to be in the Hall of Fame on the first ballot.

It is a testament to the greatness of Tim Duncan that Duncan is an even better player.

Tim Duncan is, imo, a top ten of all time player !

Bill Russell said that Timmy is his favorite player !

We've been truly blessed to have not only two of the most talented and successful players, but two players of such high character !

They are amazing people and not just amazing basketball players !

Props to both of them !

I'm a big TD's fan and I always see his career numbers one time per week to see his overall position in the historical rankings.

Now he is the 28th overall with 10.500 rebounds
And he is 41th overall in scoring with 19.192 points.
Robinson has 20.790 so Duncan could pass him in 80-90 games for Most points in franchise history.

In blocks TD is 12th with 2116 blocked shots but here it will be very difficult for him to pass the great D-Rob who is 5th with 2954.

Next year he could join Olajuwon,Kareem,O'Neal,Robinson,Ewing and Parish like the only ones with 20.000 points,10.000 rebounds and 2.000 blocks.I guess Chamberlain could be in the list too but we don't know his blocks.

And when he gets 20.000 points he will join Olajuwon,Kareem and Shaq like the only ones in NBA history with 20.000pts,10.000 rebs,2000 blks and 2.500 assist.

Clearly by numbers TD is one of the best big men of the NBA history even if you forget his rings and MVPs

As it has been said in another thread, people take this team for granted. In the past decade and a half this team has had two of the best big men to ever play the game, one of which is now in the HOF and Timmy is a sure lock in the future. That's more than I can say for any other team in the league right now.

    Business as usual.

And thankfully Tim Duncan doesn't have to deal with hype, media focus on these understated statistics, unlike the prima donnas in the league.

Amazing, how great Robinson was and now how great Timmy D. is. The greatest power forward of all time is Timmy D. hands down, 4-Championships, MVP, etc.........My favorite old school player is Bill Russell and for him to think so highly of Timmy shows the greatness of a players skill, competive spirit, and character.

God Bless: Bill Russell, David Robinson, and Tim Duncan.

    A CUT ABOVE THE REST!

Congrats to Tim! We should build a statue after him, or at least name the arena after the guy.

Not to diminish how good a rebounder Tim is, but it is worth remembering that during David's statistically peak seasons he was playing on the same team as Dennis Rodman. He still managed to come in 7th and 9th in rpg those years, despite Rodman pulling down 17 a game. And then Duncan showed up--which cuts both ways, but outside the Twin Towers era, Tim has never had a rebounder anything like Rodman playing alongside him.

Bill says a lot of things. He's one of those people that tells you nice things to your face, and will tell the next player he meets the same thing.

    He's a nice guy though.

    Great achievement by Timmy.

As mentioned above, I really wish San Antonio would tribute David and Tim in a statue. Of course after Tim retires though. Maybe the pose of both of them holding up the trophies in 2003?
