Call the Animal Defense League (they're no-kill) and see if they have room for any kittens. Specify kittens, because it seems like they never have room for adult cats.
Man, what the draws cats to this apartment, I don't know. You guys heard about the infamous awesome kitty experience, and then after that there was another stray Jess fed for awhile, but hasn't come back since.
Well, now this trumps that.
I came by today, and because Jess is out of town everything was off. I come in and it's dark, and I hear meowing. I'm like wtf? Well, I go to the porch, and there by the sliding glass door is a cat with an undetermined number of kittens.
I'm going to try to take a picture, but I don't want to scare the mother. When I opened the door to see what was going on, she hissed at me.
Anyone know what I should do if anything?

The mother, you'd probably have to call Animal Control.
I don't want to seperate them from the mother yet though, they look brand freaking new! I really think she had them at some point today there on the porch!
Manny, just put a bowl of food out there for the mother. If they were just born, she's not going to let you get near them but she might want to eat.
I hear Kris Zebrowski has a soft place in his heart for stray kitties...

Manny, to expand Kori's advice a little, put out kitten chow. It has extra nutrition for kittens and nursing mothers. I know that the Science Diet kitten formula is labeled as for kittens or nursing mothers.
Put out some water, too.

No food yet..they don't have teeth until 4 weeks.
I put out food for the mother. She was starving because when I started to pour from the thing of Kitten Chow that was here, she literaly dove into the container. Poor thing, I'm going to put out some water tomorrow as well. I'm going to call the Animal Defense leauge tomorrow and see if I can get them to take the kittens AND the mother since they are newborns and still need to be with her.
Oh, and she's getting Kitten Chow cause that's all thats here.
I think you should sell them for beer money!
There are 4! I'm just took pictures and I'm going to upload them but I have to try to lighten them up first.
People actually buy kittens? Woah!
yeah.
I bought a puppy last , last march.
almost a year ago I did it.
Love my pet!![]()
Yeah, but I have had trouble giving kittens away in the past, much less selling them!

wow great late night / early morning reading. Sonds like a dilema, or something. I dont think the dog catcher will take em , but its worth a shot.
Try the other suggestions as well.![]()
Manny, this is kind of off the subject and will probably sound a little backwards....but you should never give an animal away for free to someone you don't know.
People that fight dogs love to get small dogs, puppies, kittens and cats for free because they can use them as bait to get their dogs to like the taste of fresh blood and to teach them to kill other animals. There are also people that torture an do other de able things to animals that people are giving away...or they could just neglect them. This makes those free pets likely to get abused, and turned into instruments that present a danger to people as well as other animals.
I know it doesn't make much sense at first, and that you are trying to do the right thing for these animals...but if you don't know the person you are giving them away too the animal is probably better off just going to the pound...
If you have a cat and you are really worried about it getting gassed...the cat is probably better off if you just take it off to the woods somewhere and let it survive on it's own(which most cats can do easily)...a lot of times the humane society or a vet will offer free neutering for cats at certain times of the year.
If someone wants a pet and is willing to take care of it they will also be willing to pay for it...I know there are exceptions to that rule, like giving them to most women or children, and if you know them then don't sweat it...but trust me, if you give that animal away to a stranger it can face a lot worse things than getting gassed. I've seen some of these unfortunate animals. I've also seen people that go out and get free kittens to use for target practice. I mean would you give a child away to a total stranger? Always charge strangers something, anything...the animal is better off for it.
