I was watching NBA Fastbreak, when Tim Legler has the audacity to claim Portland.....PORTLAND as the 2nd best team in the west, and he and Barry said the Spurs had no chance, and the Blazers were the only legitimate threat to the Lakers. Then Barry went on his 10 minute spurs rant for no reason...

Portland may not be the 2nd best team in the west but they probably are the only legitimate team with a shot of upsetting LA. Its all about matchups. Most teams have a team they just can't seem to beat.
agreed.. not sure if portland can knock them out.. but i do believe they are the only team that could give the lakers trouble

Blazers = Rockets
Jazz = road games
blazers kryptonite has also been the mavs.. id say mavs more than rockets but they are both bad matchups for portland

portland= NO of last year. havent done yet.
Everyone is jumping on the portland bandwagon and based on their play the past week, not surprising. I believe that if the playoffs started tomorrow, it would be spurs vs trailblazers...and I would lean toward the latter like the experts. Oh how I hope the Spurs prove us naysayers wrong.............

Legler is an idiot. He was just saying that the mavs will win against the Rockets because it means more to them. Just acting like the Rockets aren't playing for homecourt or anything.
How can the Blazers be the 2nd best team in the West? They aren't even the best team in their division. I would say the Nuggets are the 2nd best. The Spurs would be the 2nd best if they were healthy.

Tim Legler is not that bad at all, last year he talks about the spurs as the favorites to win the 2008 championship. And I remembered back in 2005 after the NBA finals that he talked about how winning 3 championships in 7 years is better than 3 straight championships by the lakers because it shows how consistent Spurs were and how they can still stay dominant for those 7 years. Greg Anthony disagreed though
