Nadya Suleman, mother of 14, seeks to trademark her tabloid nickname
APRIL 15--The California woman who gave birth in January to eight babies has filed an application to trademark the word "Octomom," which she wants to slap on disposable diapers and assorted clothing items. Nadya Suleman, who has shown a knack for cashing in on her post-natal predicament, last Friday filed two applications with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in a bid to commercially exploit her tabloid-bestowed nickname. In her April 10 USPTO filings, the 33-year-old mother of 14 identifies herself as "Nadya Suleman, AKA Octomom," and notes that she wants to use the "Octomom" handle on products such as dresses, pants, shirts, and disposable and textile diapers. Suleman also wants to secure a trademark to use "Octomom" in connection with TV variety programming. As seen in the below excerpts from Suleman's USPTO applications, she had to sign a letter consenting to "the use of my nickname as a Trademark or Servicemark." The USPTO applications, which cost Suleman a total of $825 and only include a bland logotype, were filed for her by a Whittier, California law firm whose web site reports that it offers "Intellectual Property and Family Law services."

Smart move. I bet they will make a comic book about her and the kids. They are a beautiful bunch. I made a small donation a few months back and her family was sweet enough send us a thank you note. She is a super hero and a comic book will show how great she is.

Doesn't she need to come up with it to be able to copyright it? Isn't it whatever tabloid coined it first's intelectual property

Great idea. She will shoot a baby out of her snatch to battle a certain kind of villian! All the kids will have different powers and will be called on in different cir stances!
Send donations. Someone threw a car seat through her cars back window. The chair will be used but the insurance has a 500 dollar deductible

...I saw her on TV last night wandering around from new mini-van to new mini-van in her driveway trying to figure out which one the keys in her hand would open...I saw her try at least three different ones...
She was just parading her fat ass around for the papparazzi to take pictures of...who opens a ing car door with a key anymore?
I hope the local hospital district sues that ignorant for all the expenses for birthing this litter and the last one and gets a judgment that comes off the top of her book and TV deals...

I am not sure how much welfare she is going to need. People are hooking her up. Like Cosmic Cowboy said she has new mini vans. I think she will be just fine and I can't say 100 percent sure she will not get welfare but as things look now with book deals,tv deals all sorts of deals she can get rich quick. I sure all of you read the story about a freaken porn for a million dollars, that alone will get those kids a very nice home paid in full. She loses that baby fat she is quit the looker. She may find a rich suitor wanting to have a big family. Lets all wish her the best! Help her out. Send 5,10,20,50 dollars. She will make sure those kids needs come before hers!

The problem is, people and the media are giving her the attention she wants, she loves it, such a lowlife, her goal is to seek publicity. Ignore her, leave her alone and move on. WTF do we care about this woman. And I do think she should have been sterilized long time ago.
