Howard
when it counts, yao. you cant go to dho down the stretch because he cant make his FT's.
Yao's basketball IQ is incredibly high. He makes really good decisions, and does a great job of creating easy baskets for his teammates. His skillset is amazing for a guy his size. He can hit just about any shot on the floor with regularity (except the 3 just about). Coming into the league, there were questions about his willingness to play in the post and his aggression. Those seem to have gone away for the most part. Yao simply did what he wanted with the Blazer frontcourt.
On the other hand, Howard is obviously the better athlete. Much better rebounder and a more versatile defender since he has great foot speed, which often compensates for him being out of position. He doesn't seem to have great basketball IQ and a VERY limited offensive game. Howard's low basketball IQ got exposed in the Olympics when Bosh showed him how to move without the basketball and not get in your teammates way.
....Yao by a mile...unless I want to teach basketball 101 for the next two years.
