- Allow a vote on HB 222

if they would open a poker room in retama it for one would save that place and create jobs, all the bordering stated have already done the is and retama, sam houston and lons star park are in vear real danger of being shut down.

There are people on the left and right who are against everything. The fact remains that the driving force behind blocking this type of legislation anywhere it comes up is Republican Evangelicals.

I was at work when I posted that and didn’t take time to proof reed but you got the point.
I am currently playing poker as a part time job some 20-30 hours a week and up to 60
Last three weeks
Week 1 +1100
Week 2 -$600
Week 3 + 700
These past few weeks Ive only played in 2-3 sessions per week.
Results are from $1 $2 NL at the Flamingo
In the past 4 months I've had one really horrible week where I was down $1100 for the week. And only 3 weeks out of 16 where I was in the red for the week.
This past week I played in 5 tourneys with two cashes also.
Life is good. I start dealer school Monday so my life will pretty much revolve around playing and dealing poker.
I would be playing a lot more right now however I spent a big chunk of my bankroll on an engagement ring and business has been slow so I've had to spend some of it on bills.
I'd only be half-kidding if said you really should consider becoming a lobbyist for the Poker Gaming community.
Poker lobbyist would be a badass job Manny. Look into it.
Yeah no. Poker is a means to an end for me, and while I strongly believe it should be legal for many reasons, In a few years I'm done with it for a long ass time.

Horse Racing has been strong in Texas for 100's of years and if something isent done it will die, and putting poker rooms in at ratma is the best way to save it. I don't see any thing whack (what are you 13 using whack really) about that.
We always watch the live racing when we hit Retama. We love that place!!!
Retama just needs to add slot machines and I'm so there.

your right and the reson is the prize money for the races there is low so they dont get the better horese
if not retama where there is already gambling where would you put poker and slots
The problem is that Louisiana, Oklahoma, and New Mexico all have other gambling at their racetracks and with that extra revenue they can afford to have larger horse race purses (like 3, 4, or 5 times as much) as the Texas tracks can offer and still make money...the guys that come for the horse races end up dropping money in the casinos and one helps the other...
A lot of Texas born and bred racehorses never race in Texas because the race purses are so wimpy...they just aren't worth risking getting a horse hurt.
your right a state as big as texas should have done it first
