Former Sooners great, NBA player Tisdale dies after battle with cancer
College basketball legend, and my good friend and fellow Sooner, Wayman Tisdale passed Friday morning. Tisdale was just elected to the College Basketball Hall of Fame this year.
Tisdale's passing comes after a two-year battle with cancer. His leg was amputated a little over a year ago.
Tisdale, a three-time All-American at Oklahoma, spent 12 seasons in the NBA with the Indiana Pacers, Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns
Wow that sucks, I remember the story about his leg getting cut off.
wow. sad.
dude could play a mean sax.
rip
I thought he was fine after his leg was amputated?
That sucks, I didn't follow his career except for when he played for the Suns and he did well. (better than any of the other POS scrubs the suns usually had in the past)
Wow.
I'm really shocked, I really didn't see that one coming
So young
R.I.P
He had an even better career with the Kings (before joining PHX)
very sad.. R.I.P...... i thought everything was fine after the leg was amputated.
It must had spread before they amputated.
aint that the truth, u dont have to tell me
RIP.
That sucks big time. I used to collect Wayman Tisdale basketball cards because for some inexplicable reason I was awesome when using him in NBA Jam. Damn.
That sucks, I guess I'm vaguely remembering about his diagnosis, but I didn't know he lost his leg. I wish it would have worked. RIP
Terrible news. Was a great person as well as great player. Peaked in College, but still had some very good seasons in the NBA. Talented Jazz musician as well... Sad...
Nobody else could pack so many accomplishments in such a short life.
R.I.P.
R.I.P. he left not only a gr8 family but an incredible music legacy as well... thanks for everything...
Wow terrible news, i still remember when he got his leg amputated. He wasn't sad or anything, he looked like he was just happy to still be alive. It sucks that this happened to him, R.I.P. If there really is a heaven I hope he gets there.
Wow this sucks.
Poor guy. What a big smile he had.
I thought he played the bass guitar?
I have his CD...........awesome musician. Every time I saw him, he was smiling.![]()
He did.
I Didn't know he played Sax but I do know he Played a mean Guitar and I had the pleasure to see him in concert.
A Great Player, Great Musician and a Great Person.
RIP Mr. Tisdale
