Jazz Man? Man..that sucks hardcore..RIP Wayman. I knew he had cancer...wow..that's horrible.
First Chuck, now this. I don't remember much about Wayman as a basketball player, but he seemed like a of a guy from the interviews I've recently seen him in. Condolensces to his family and fans and hope with each day we move closer to a cure for Cancer.
I followed his career at OU and into the NBA. A uva guy, great college player, solid NBA player and also damn good bassist. His post-NBA career evolved into him becoming a very formidable a Jazz musician. Released 8 jazz albums during his short post-NBA career. He toured nationally and internationally, worked with some of the industry giants and put on some good shows during that time. Some of his selections became staples on Smooth Jazz stations all across the country. Good stuff.
That big smile and his big presence will be missed. RIP
I saw the ESPN special on him a few months back...man this sucks. RIP
Wayman Tisdale was a great man who will surely be missed. I enjoyed watching him play in the NBA, and know that he had a stellar basketball career (Oklahoma legend, Olympic gold medal, 12-year NBA career). But I will probably remember him more for his infectious smile and positive outlook. Given the things he had to deal with over the last few years, his optimistic at ude is all the more incredible.
He knew how to make music, too. If you like jazz, you should definitely check out his compilations.
RIP BABY! You will be missed, you and CHUCK Daly! RIP to you both, basketball lost with the loss of them two.
Wow this is Sad, God Bless, R.I.P.
