will the lakers take a commanding 2-0 lead or will the nuggets steal home court and make this a best of 5?

I think JR smith and Pau are the 2 x factors for tonight's game because they both and subpar games in game 1. enjoy the game folks!

If only the Lakers bigs would show up to Staples we might pull off the win, Thuggs won't choke again. Kobe can't be singly handedly winning games every night on both ends of the floor like he did the last game. Ariza needs to at least somewhat contain Melo, so Kobe doesn't have to guard him and someone else needs to show up on offense. Other then Kobe nobody did anything at all offensively the first 47 minutes of the game.

Dude, that hasn't happened once the ENTIRE season, I don't see why he would all of the sudden start demanding the ball and be all aggressive, it just simply isn't his personality.

That's what the commentators said but that was really just Pau screaming trying to get a foul called for himself

Can I please hear your reasoning behind this, I mean I hope to god it happens but nothing this entire post season has shown me these two guys will show up. As we all know by now Gasol just completely disappears when going up against physical guys, Martin is playing him tough down low and Bynum simply can't say out of foul trouble and have a decent game unless he's going up against 6'6 Chuck Hayes and those days are behind him.

Wishful thinking on my part a bit, I admit.

But Pau is due after coming out soft last game. Bynum is due for a good series.

Nothing wrong with some wishful thinking , I really hope they come out and play well too, just being honest I'm not so sure it will happen but we'll see.

It seems like the past 6 games or so the Lakers either come out and get up by 15 after the first quarter or come out and get down by 15, I hope if they do start slow again they can at least keep things close early.

Once Billups settles down into a groove, Lakers are going to be toast.

A definite fear no doubt about that. Those two threes he hit late were amazing, one with Gasol right in his face and the other step back with Ariza right there (even though Billups was out of bounds). Billups is probably the only player that has completely owned the Lakers over the years that I actually like. He's amazing.

Amazing he is. The guy is a baller and has balls of stones. Much respect for Billups. I just hope the Lakeshow shows that same respect just as well. You really can't contain him but at the least put a hand on his face. Billups gets raddled rarely and is stone cold once he gets his groove.
My concern lies mostly with Pau. Not that I've written Drew out but Gasol should have already found his groove and is so inconsistent it's not even funny. He needs to have a game 7 vs. Houston kind of night to really help the situation. If Kobe and Pau take over and have the games we know they are capable of and the bench shows up and produces just decent numbers, the Nuggets shouldn't have a chance. With that said, which Laker team will show up tonight?

It should be a good game. The real question will be whether the Nuggets respond to Tuesday's loss with even more focus and effort tonight, or whether they sputter out and fold.

Based on their performance in the playoffs thus far, I'm inclined to believe the former is what will happen, though how the team deals with real adversity here in the postseason remains to be seen.

I also do find it interesting that in both Conference Finals games so far, the team coming off of a 7 Game series took Game 1. For these teams, staying in rhythm has thus far outweighed the benefits of extra days off between series.

I don't think the key to the Nuggets will be Billups.

I think JR Smith is the one that has to step up if the Nuggets want to win.

Without a spectacular game from JR Smith, the Nuggets aren't winning any games.

Not sure if I agree with that....though I admit, that might just be me not wanting to lay all of the Nuggets hopes on the streakiest guard in the NBA.

^Your right Morg1411. I do believe they will come out with that much more focus. Denver is no walk in the part and are more than solid. They do have a good team and why people write them off is beyond me. They can take out the Lakers. If the Lakers come out with what we are theorizing Denver will have, which is more focus, than the edge should go to the Lakers. But the key for the Lakers is that ALL KEY GUYS WILL HAVE TO PRODUCE. Simple as that. Short of that, it will be a long series for the Lakers with questionable dividends.

Last I heard JR was a game time decision with that strained calf. He is their bench in terms of scoring, if he doesn't play or doesn't play well that is a huge lose for them.

He IS streaky as but when he's on, man the Nuggets are virtually unstoppable.

I saw some interview last night and he says nothing is stopping him from playing today. But you're right he might not play well and that's really gonna hurt the Nuggets firepower.

Phil Jackson will show why he is the best coach in basketball tonight. All of the gots who said the Lakers would lose in this series will retract those statements.
well it's not that difficult to outcoach Karl.
