Ok, if this mother er doesn't get grilled the way I did.....
Study finds College’s and Universities are overwhelmingly liberal.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...v=rss_politics
Nevertheless, more college graduates voted for Bush than Kerry. Also, most people who earned 50k or more also voted for Bush.
http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2004/pag.../epolls.0.html
Conclusion, people with real world experience tend to vote conservative and those who stay in academia tend to vote liberal.
Am I wrong? What other observations can be made?
Ok, if this mother er doesn't get grilled the way I did.....
That is total BS. Real life experiences my ass.
Just goes to show that the upper class votes for the upper class.
For conservative it is all about the benjamins.
For liberals it is all about the people.
next!
That's funny. I've know far more poor conservatives and rich liberals than the other way around.
You're right. I can't think of a single Liberal initiative that involves people getting money. For conservative it is all about the benjamins.
For liberals it is all about the people.
Liberals give it out, Cons hoard it for themselves.I can't think of a single Liberal initiative that involves people getting money.![]()
Personally I don't think income level or education level should be a factor.
I know people who are totally opposite of the studies findings.
I'm probably more liberal due to my upbringing but I'm sure there are those who were brought up the same who are conservative. Go figure.
conservatives are children of the lord and liberals are babykillers!
What you call IT, I call MY MONEY. Well, in my dreams it's that way.
Of course neo-cons give IT out too. They just give it to someone else.
I would say both sides probably give equally, all told.
It's just that one side wants giving to be mandatory. :P
conservatives are children of the lord![]()
I just stuck to the facts. You on the other hand go with how you feel. If I'm wrong and you're right, please provide facts to back-up your claims.
Wow Manny, I thought you were all about the logic. That's some pretty strong name calling from behind a computer. You can at least do what you do best and have an opinion first w/o research, and then go find bs facts to support your idiocy.
Facts are a leading cause of myopia.
You're right, the facts. Emotion is a much better guide for making decisions.
I scratched my ass 5 times today. THAT'S A FACT.
Facts can, in fact, be worthless.
So how does that relate to the premise of the thread. At least challenge me.
<-- Born into poverty, worked fulltime to pay for college, got a sweet job, voted for bush
suck on that lemon
I have no idea what any of that means. Its bedtime.
Okay.
You opened a thread with two sentences and made a conclusion - and little to nothing else.
I called you myopic because you selectively used facts (actually, you are myopic because you are predisposed to believe what you want to believe), and I augmented my argument against you with the "fact" that facts are overrated.
NOW, can you connect the dots?
In other words, you are fluff.
doesn't mean anything except that it's a trend.
Not saying that this study is probably compromised, but...
The study appears in the March issue of the Forum, an online political science journal. It was funded by the Randolph Foundation, a right-leaning group that has given grants to such conservative organizations as the Independent Women's Forum and Americans for Tax Reform.
You're obviously full of yourself, but I'll take the bait. Explain the following trend, as people get older they become more conservative. BTW, what do you do for a living?
I'm the Maytag Repairman. What the do you do for a living?
BTW, I am proud-ass Libertarian. Do you even know what a Libertarian is? I'll bet it takes you a few minutes to google and digest that.
You are funny. I'm full of myself, yet you ask me what I do for a living as though my self-worth is based upon my"job."
I'm guessing you just got promoted to Asst.Mgr. at MickeyD's.
No you just come across as a snob who always s on what others say and rarely have an opinion of your own. You package try to package it as original and I try to engage you, but it's more of the name calling bull that I'm used to hearing from you.
BTW, I get a email from Davey Doodle or whatever the local libertarian leader's name is. Voted for almost as many libertarians than I did republicans in the last state election.
As far as your job, I wasn't questioning your self-worth (pretty defensive). I'm just guessing you have no real world experience, or failed miserably in some business endeavor. I bet my guess is closer than yours.
