Give the full fishing report sir......location?
We whacked em and stacked em this weekend. Our 7 fish tournament stringer (5 trout, 2 reds) weighed 34.4# and we won heavy stringer and biggest trout...shortest "stringer" trout was 24". I probably released another 30-40 trout and still brought home about 20# of fillets...

Are you serious ?!?! That is a nice trip. Where at ?
I've always heard good reports from the Baffin Bay area. We stayed at a "fisherman's resort" past Rivera (Baffin on the Rocks) and had a good weekend. Plus one of those cabins there in Bird Island belongs to my Dad and his friends.
We usually launch off by Goose Island and fish off Cedar Bayou, San Antonio Bay....great fishing.
I am shocked CC didn't post pictures of his yacht.
That is a fat tournament trout! We were out in Baffin a few weeks ago but near the mouth of Alazan working the rocks. Caught a few. I'm heading down this weekend and might give Baffin another try. Were you limited to using artificial was bait allowed?
Caught them off what?
I'm surprised a Laker Fan hasn't posted in this thread.
We've got a place in Rockport right on St. Charles Bay by Goose Island. I love fishing. I just like fishing for redfish (70% Kayak, 30% boat) but I will settle for trout during the winter. 100% artificial lure on a bait caster, spinning reel if it is too windy I saiidd
Haven't caught anything memorable in about 2 years though![]()

Hey we have a place just down the road from Goose Island as well. In Frontier Fishing lodge. My family has owned a place in the park there for over 30 years.
My wife and i will be down there this weekend actually to try out our new kayaks i bought over the past month. I sold my Majek a few months ago, and now am going to give kayaking a try. I plan on heading across St. Charles and fishing the eastern side of the bay just to play around.
croaker soaker
nice catch
i had a nice weekend too, some fat reds and a cobia that was awesome
ive just got my grandpas old skiff though
we all know cosmiccowboy has a yacht
Those aren't trout.
nice haul CC. me and my brother have been slayin em' in between the island and port A at shamrock cove. load up the kayaks and some of those copper top gulps and youre good to go. no bait buckets or re-baiting every five minutes, just find what they want and get em' in the kayak. we have been averaging 24'' trout and 26'' red. good job though, looks like fun doin it tourney style.
My goal is a Red, been at it now for over 7 years sometimes I go months where I fish at least once a week but not at the coast, I go to Braunig/Calaveras Lake and fish off the bank which makes getting a red harder. I seen it done a few times but have not caught one myself. Everyone on a boat seems to catch them in bunches tho. I catch catfish allot and some stripers sometimes but no Red.
I saw this ad on craigslist I would not pay that but damn that pic makes me fishing off the bank feel hopeless

Dang, averaging 24/26???? thats killin em for yakkin out of Shamrock...I've fished there a bunch over the years with my yaks and never caught a good trout...picked up some decent reds back in there but never could get on any good specs...
going to sunday beach to fish the surf for the weekend after labor day. Anyone have suggestions?
Yeah. Go Fukk jourself
Wheres Sunday beach?
I know they have been killin the trout in the surf early at Port A...apparently blue water is really close in and the reds should start running soon.
+1, fishing is always good, and Cathys has great food.
