The Spurs need more of a defensive minded big man than a scoring big man. I wouldn't do it.

I hate Amare Stoudemire, and I want nothing to do with him..he's a cancer, doesn't play defensive, has a huge ego, he's mentally weak, and has had some words for the Spurs organization..
It wouldnt matter if Duncan was unselfish or not. You would have 4 players who average 20 pts/gm(Duncan, Parker, Jefferson, and Amare)...with Stoudamire wanting the ball everytime down the floor. Plus, he was the main reason Terry Porter got fired in Phoenix because he didnt want to play defense and he cried when Porter asked him to. I dont think Pop would go for that.
You could run down the checklist of all the things that put guys in Pop's doghouse and Amare's probably got all of them going for him. He sounds like an up grade until you find him only playing 18 minutes a game because Pop feels the need to teach him some lesson that he's probably never going to learn.
