Being the pillar of quality journalism we are, we're obligated to shout out the job the New York Post did in cornering Jeannie Buss at the recent Knicks-Lakers game and coercing her to chirp all about boyfriend Phil Jackson's intentions.
Jackson in New York -- might happen, Jeannie says. If so, Marbury and the Knicks will get a chance to show exactly where their place is.

Phil Jackson is a HUGE Malik Rose fan. Him and Jerry West targeted Rose as the player they wanted in the 2001-02 offseason. They offered the same contract as the one Rose signed with the Spurs with, but for one less year. So Rose took less money to re-sign in San Antonio.
If you look up past quotes by PJax, he's always said that Rose was a very tough cover.
okayyou are probably right.
but, what if Phil choose "to deviate from his proven formula of taking great players, forming superior teams and making them champions?", get rid of Malik fat contract?
Phil had superstar players, but his REAL genius was being able to get niche role players to fit perfectly around the superstars:
BJ Armstrong, Craig Hodges, Steve Kerr, Luc Longley, Horace Grant, Rick Fox, Derek Fisher.
Malik fits in there easily.
what TiMVP said....the main reason Pop and the Spurs gave Malik that contract was to keep him from going to the lakers. I dont think Phil will get rid of Malik if Phil becomes the knicks head coach. Thats a big IF, no coat tails for Jackson means Phil will probably NOT coach the knicks next year
BTW Malik got 18-9 today
He'd keep Malik, and pretty much all the big guys.
But he'd want to get rid of Marbury and Crawford.
There would be some big differences in the kind of team he and Zeke would have in mind.
Maybe so, but in 28 min against the Lakers he was 2 for seven, 4 rebounds five fouls, and a couple of turnovers.
